School says no, state says yes. I think you should do it, but again, you have to be ready to deal with the consequences

You may try and keep a low profile but don't forget it will set off library or other building metal detectors. Someone at ucla or lacc got busted a couple ears ago this way

People don't have metal clipboards or binders anymore?
Dear ISIS, Texas is not known for their gun free zones.

Yes, and I would ask the OP how much counter active shooter training he has? (I know the answer is none) What makes you think you have the skill set to deal with this issue? How often do you even practice retrieving (not drawing) your gun from a backpack? Do you think you can hit someone moving at even 10ft per second towards you? And to make things worse, LEO will think you are the shooter because you are not a cop but are the one with the backpack and gun, which is who they will be looking for.

That sounds like a good Democrat argument. However, personally, I am expert marksman with M9 (active duty) and distinguished expert NRA pistol. We do regular exercises for active shooters, and I understand well that the only sufficient way to stop someone who is shooting people is to retaliate in kind.

                    Here's a slightly different take . . .

What are you odds of you needing it when (a) there is an armed person on campus (b) who is near you, and (c)you are in a position to engage, both physically and mentally?

                    Compared to the odds of:
                    You being seen (printing)
                    You being snitched on
You being detained by Campus Police and searched
                    You drop it in class
                    etc
                    etc
                    etc

I'm going to say its something like 50:1 it will be discovered vs you needing to use it. (roughly)

Only you can decide if it is worthwhile to you . . .

                      Umm.
School says no and State says no.

AZ "constitutional carry" has limitation on where you can legally carry.
One of those off-limits area are schools/colleges.

I'd say do it- it's a good idea but just don't do anything really stupid like posting a thread on the Internet saying you are going to carry at the university of Arizona.. You know what I mean??

I went to U of AZ! Large spread out campus, nice brick buildings, easy to hide behind or in, plus Sagauro Cactus to hide behind, no need to carry on campus, unless you tagged some Kappa Sig's girlfriend at the DG house last night, but I am sure you can out run him from Dirtbags and hit the Shanty instead, or do a lap around Maloney's for a sweep to see if he is still following you with his 'roided up bro's. No worries, take a drive up toward Oracle on Hwy 77 and there are some dirt roads north of BioSphere and set up a range and enjoy your day, but just be back on campus in time to celebrate another Madness Victory like back when I was there and we ONE it all in April 1997! U of A! U of A!

Lets just say bomb threats almost ruined a few peoples lives I know back in high school. Threat gets called in a next thing you know everyones bag is getting checked. Happens quite frequently. I would not want to have a gun anywhere near me at that point.

I agree. I say go for it. There was a story about how a student had a legit CCW and because she was on campus she did not carry her weapon. Then when walking to her car in the parking garage got raped. It would have been a complete 180 circumstance if she decided to conceal her firearm.
