Day One: Walked for freakin' ever today checking out new items, updated stuff and passing out Calguns business cards.
I saw a few things that looked very interesting:
Plinker Arms is a company offering AR-15 pattern rimfire rifles and pistols.
These are all aluminum, uses a full floating handguard that is compatible with any AR handguard, works with all drop in triggers and all controls are identical o a 5.56/.223 AR style rifle.

GG&G has a new 30mm mount for the mini-14 for Aimpoint sights as well as Primary Arms and Vortex red dot sights.

American Tactical (AT) had their Omni metal reinforced polymer lower on display. The buffer tube ollar and rear takedown pin are reinforced with a metal insert inside the polymer lower. This is the are where there have been catastrophic failures with a few polymer lowers.

Of course I had to check out the Remington R51.
It is bigger than I expected it to be, it's not large by any means but it's not a pocket rocket either. The trigger was, interesting. It's a clean trigger pull and not to heavy but trying to check the reset was an exercise in futility as there is no indication of it. The grip safety is small and unobtrusive.

One thing that caught my eye even though it's not from a big name was Sightmark's new 1-6 scope. It's a FFP scope with an interesting illuminated reticule, it's like a mil-dot with a tall oval around the center.
It was pretty sharp and bright with no blurring around the edges. It's not quite as good as my Nikon Monarch 1-4 but it was on par with my Bushnell AR Optics 1-4.

So I saw a few interesting product, walked to Florida and back and made a lot of the vendors aware that California is a huge market they should not ignore.
More tomorrow...
