AAA in nor cal will cover firearms at no extra cost, they are covered under personal property in your homeowners or rental insurance. over 200k in personal property and regular homeowner stuff for around 100 a month.

Wow, these prices are making me think I'm overpaying for my NRA Armscare insurace. I think I'm paying about $120 per year for only $8k coverage.Comment

You may want to call Shannon and ask her about sub limits for theft losses.AAA in nor cal will cover firearms at no extra cost, they are covered under personal property in your homeowners or rental insurance. over 200k in personal property and regular homeowner stuff for around 100 a month.

Sub limits? What's that?
Also, has anyone ever filed a claim?
I worry that some of these smaller companies would not or could not pay. A great rate is one thing, but if you don't get paid or if getting paid is a huge hassle, it's worthless.
Also, I got some quotes a while ago and the company wanted a detailed list of all my firearms. Not sure I won't that floating around out there. Don't get me wrong, I have a detailed list to include photos, but I don't want it sitting around my agents office.Comment

Do you know what actual insurance company they use? I couldn't find anything. Eastern looks like a broker.Pricey.

Sub limits are included in most every HO or renters policy for high theft items, difficult to value or replace and the like.Sub limits? What's that?

I've seen theft coverage as low as $500 for some categories. It doesn't matter what your dec page says. You have to actually read the policy or deal with an honest agent that has.Comment
