Froglube, the CLP that from it's own marketing materials can't protect your firearms, at least it's edible?

Froglube, the only lube on the market that manages to completely fail to lubricate if not applied with a complex procedure. Too much, too cold, doesn't work, tastes minty!

Froglube, the only CLP on the market that's so incompatible with everything else that you must only use froglube and contact with any other normal lubricant can screw up your guns until completely degreased. It's edible!

I'll never understand why this stuff is so popular. Who in their right mind wants a biodegradeable CLP, that biodegrades over time instead of... I dunno... protecting the metal? A CLP that gums up if you ever need to lube your firearm and don't have this specific product handy. A CLP that gums up if not properly applied with just the right amount and heat, which pretty much nothing else on the market requires. I could sell canola oil as gun lube and tell people they just need to "season their guns like a skillet", never apply anything else, and charge $30 a bottle just because it's edible.

Simple CLP has done just fine for an awful long time in the military. It's all I use on all of my firearms. Don't fix what ain't broken!

Glad I never bought into it. This just gives me another reason.

What I did buy into was using the Swiss Waffenfett grease (yellow stuff) to wipe my rifles down with before they are put back in the safe. It certainly keeps the moisture off of the gun.

For the rest - Ballistol, Mobil 1 synthetic grease, and Automatenfett grease. I clean and preserve the bores of the centerfire rifles the Swiss way to keep it simple.

I use breakfree, triflow , Remoil, various greases and even some 10w30 on various firearms over the years.... never any adverse issues aside from LETTING THE STUFF GET DIRTY and not cleaning.......

Froglube is a bunch hype... like i heard someone say 'cant mix it with any other cleaner or lube due to XXXXXX happening.... Pshhh, what a joke..... I have a few rifles I have used the BreakFree longterm storage stuff on, grab wipe shoot,clean,repeat.... no gummy nothing.... and in terms of if ever a shtf if my firearms wont function with WHATEVER I lube with, they wont be 'joining the party' ... That is why I love my FAL rifles......... whatever oil or grease can be had can be used and it does not whine......

could never jump on the frog lube train, mostly for this reason.

been using jardine's for a couple years now... zero complaints, awesome performance.

I have not used Frog Lube---many lubes will dry out as described and leave a tacky surface. I've been using BreakFree CLP for sooooooo long and it seems to lube just fine---no rust either---the only area that I see could be improved would be a really nasty clean ups, but it does work---just not as good as specialty cleaners. Since I have a lifetime supply, I'll stick with CLP...

Mobile 1 Grease mix with Mobile 1 Synthetic Oil to further soften the grease. A few guns have been sitting in the safe like that for a few years with the actions gliding like butter when manipulated.

Glad I stayed with hoppies 9 kit and rem oil. The guys who were making fun of me for not using frog lube are now trying to get it off by baking their guns in the oven. I never used a car oil either. All my guns function fine.

eeyup. I use Balistol on everything now. Wood, leather, plastic, metal.

I think you could probably eat it too if you wanted. Someone told me it was made from pig fat. Which isn't true. Its made from white mineral oil.

Its got almost a 100 year provenance and it was invented by germans. It got their military forces through two attempts at world domination in two generations. That's all I need really.

You didn't wipe the Froglube off after applying it. You're supposed to apply it, let it set/thicken and remove as much as you can with a clean rag. When you use the weapon lube will sweat out of the metal.
