I'm kinda curious why the guy who stopped somewhat forward of the van didn't pull up closer so that he could block her escape route. That would probably have prevented the whole "shooting at a van filled with people" incident.

that's even worse, very poor judgment...what if he hits the gas tank and causes an explosion, burning to death everyone, kids included, in the vehicle

if he's not smart enough to thinks about that beforehand, he shouldn't be trusted to carry a gun or badge

not excusing what the dumba** mom pulled, but, 2 wrongs still don't make a right...his actions could've resulted in the death of innocent kids in the vehicle...not worth it, over the infraction she was originally pulled over for

I would expect the officer to have a little bit greater restraint than that

Bad boys, bad boys, watcha gonna do when Sheriff John Brown come for you?

Well, why do you think people lie to the police, assault the police and then run???

None of you were there, were you?

Both driver and passenger were wanted for parole violation, driver was on suspended license, registration was not current, tags were not current, and vehicle was not registered to driver. Drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. Passenger was reaching for a gun under the seat when shots were fired. All three will be charged with felony assault on a police officer, felony elude, drugs, etc., etc. Passenger may get gang enhancement.

                  Obviously.

Not sure which card the driver was trying to pull, but high fives to the cops.

At that point with the assault on a peace officer (driver and passenger) that is a feeing felon...
No matter how wrong the driver is that cop isn't in the right.

I have no issues with a cop blowing out the tires of the van. I'd be concerned where his misses were going, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I think the driver, the 14 year old and ALL the other kids should be arrested. You know it's only a matter of time before the rest of the rats come out of the hole...might as well deal with them now.

I have to ask you have somebody that ran from enforcement and when you get them stopped again you don't get the keys to insure we don't do it again.

What is police policy on this disable the vehicle, put spike strips on front of vehicle, secure keys?

People do funny things when overloaded with stress. Is assault on an officer a felony? Is deadly force authorized in apprehending a felon? Where was the supervisor sergeant I guess.

So you've got some crazy lady in a vehicle that clearly has no regard for the safety of her occupants or the lives of others. You got a punk kid that has already shown a willingness to assault an officer. You've got god-knows-what inside of the van and god-knows-who willing to use it.

So officer is supposed casually reach into the vehicle and remove the keys from the ignition? Officer is supposed to walk, exposed and w/o back up in the FRONT of the vehicle and lay out a spike strip?

What planet do you live on, man???????

I'm sure all those pissing and moaning at the officer trying to shoot out the tires would be just fine with this lady taking off...FOR THE 3rd FREAKIN' TIME...and plowing her minivan full of occupants into a crowd if innocents?? I'm sure in that scenario everyone would be commending the officers for using good restraint, right?
