Called the cops on the neighbor

I just called the cops on my neighbor who was shooting his shotgun in the air.

He's currently in custody of the PD.

Does anybody have any experience with this? Should I expect to go to court to testify?

I remember seeing an episode of Cops of the same thing. the guy was told not to do it again, this show was back in the 90s though and i think it was the day the gulf war was claimed it had just ended.

What goes up must come down though, what if the shot fell into your house?... or hit someone?

In other words... I did the right thing. Dirt bags like that makes us law abiding gun owners look bad. Especially our situation here in CA. Basicly this dirt bag just gave the antis more ammunition to throw at us.

I've been sprayed with birdshot while dove hunting. It's not a big deal. And even Mythbusters tested shooting rifles into the sky without lethal consequences. Only time you'll get a dangerous situation is if firing at a low angle. Shots that are ~ straight up aren't really dangerous.

That said, I don't advocate people doing it, nor would I do it. But it's not the surefire killing method the media portrays it as.

I think he will know who called. The Police officer brought along somebody from their party when he talked to me.

Snitch i think not, god i hate that term its such school yard, tell-tale attiude towards doing the right thing, which i believe he did, what if someone had been hurt or worse, im sure drinking was involved, which makes it even more dangerous. I dont think this person shooting his shot gun considered any risks to himself or children and grown ups which surely must of been around. good job on calling cops. And to people using that word snitch, PLEASE your not in the play ground/school yard at school any more, it be-littles you to think like that in the real world, there are real consequences to your actions, and its not stay behind after class for detention.
