    Big 5 sucks!

Went in with my wife and she wanted to get her mosin. My wife has bought guns before with her license and an official printout from the DMV and this douche says Big 5 does not recognize that printout.
Wtf man why do they need to be so difficult.

Buy the gun somewhere else if you don't like the way they run THEIR business.

          And, here we go...

So just because its their business, it makes everything OK when they run it like douche bags?

And guess what? We as consumers have a right to COMPLAIN about crappy service. You act like just because its their business, no one can complain about it? Its called word of mouth.

Im sure the OP and EVERYONE ELSE for that matter, knows that we can take our business elsewhere.

Technically they are not supposed to take that printout, since anyone can get on the dmv website and print one out. Turners told me the same thing, so I came back with a property tax bill, and problem solved.

Wrong. They arent going to get that printout on watermarked DMV paper from their house

Maybe im wrong but I dont think you wait in line tobpay 5 bucks for something you could print out at home. Even still its not gonna have the watermarking

Its because you can go to the DMV and tell them ANY address and get it watermarked. If you don't have to prove to DMV that you live there, how is that proof of residence?

                  I'm confused...

My wife has bought guns before with her license and an official printout from the DMV

                  License... As in drivers license?
                  Printout.. Printout of what?
                  .
                  .
                  .

The address on peoples DL's seldom matches their current address, so an additional gov document is provided for proof of residency, like your car reg or a utility bill in your name.

Anyone that has been posting on this site for any amount of time (OP has 1774 posts) knows that Big 5 is not known for their expanded knowledge of gun laws and related transaction issues, yet every few months we still hear about these Crappy Big 5 gun stories. If you go to Big 5 expect issues since the Chick you are dealing with behind the counter was just stocking jocks and gym shorts before the dude at the "sporting goods section" went on lunch. If you want better customer service and only want to deal with friendly knowledgeable gun experts, then go to a gun store! Oh wait, there are a ton of complaints about those stores too in other threads!!!

I just bought a shotgun around 2 weeks ago. I just showed my driver's license and filled out some paperwork for the background check. Didn't bring a second proof of residence and didn't need a DMV printout. Is that unusual at Big 5 or are shotguns an "easy" gun to get? I thought shotguns and rifles were the same process.
