    Just in Big-5

    Citrus Heights.

The gun counter guy was busy taling to another chap, so I didn't ask, but I did notice:

All the guns in stock that I could see were air rifles. Daisy, Crossman, GAMO... No shotguns, 10/22s or any other firearm *that I could see*.

Anyone else noticed this in the CH store, or any other Big-5?

    Not a good sign...

(& please don't reply with anything that sounds like "Big-5 sucks!" or "you shouldn't buy rifles at Big-5 anyways")

Noticed this at the new Big 5 in Ventura. They used to sell rifles and shotguns at the old store down the street. No reason to ever go there again.

It seems that the old big 5's that have been around awhile in L.A. still sell real rifles and ammo.

The new stores (based on what I've seen in the valley out of the ones I've gone into) only cary air rifles and airsoft stuff.

Some of the new stores though, do carry ammo, but no rifles.

It just depends on which you happen into.

The Big5 in Santa Barbara stopped selling rifles and shotguns recently, but do carry ammo.

Only a couple of Big 5's here in Silicon Valley have FFL's. The Milpitas and Sunnyvale ones are the only ones that come to mind. The rest you're stuck with airsoft stuff?!

But the one in Chula Vista (H St East of the 805) has rifles and shotguns. Went there this am to pick up a couple of folding chairs and saw them.

Big-5 in Livermore has guns, the Ruger 10/22 for $219.
But, I just got my 10/22 at J&R Sports Supply in Livermore for the same price.
Better to buy at the local shop than the Big-Jive.

Have you seen the prices for ammo at Big 5?
It is marked up Big Time!
