Where to shoot 80%'s

Lytle Creek is far from EBR friendly. there have been several reports of them harassing shooters with them. there is at least one case where the RSO called the FR rangers, and had a guy arrested after he took out his mag while clearing a malfunction. IIRC he was released later with no charges filed. but still a major CF situation. best advice is to not give business to those who are unfriendly to us.Originally posted by becciboo"Fight like you're the third monkey trying to get on Noah's Ark...".
The only thing that matters is rallying our cause to fight the enemy relentlessly, indifferent to the outcome of any particular battleComment

I never had a problem with my 80% when I used to go to Lytle creek. I even took my 870 AOW and they never asked for my tax stamp, one of the RSO only asked to shoot itOriginally posted by beccibooOriginally posted by Bobby RiciglianoI like FDE because when I pose for pictures with my FDE guns it makes me look more like an operator.Originally posted by Nutnfancy"Preserve your gat"Comment

The only range in the Los Angeles area that actually inspects and cares about their opinion of the legality of your firearms is the aformentioned Lytle Creek.
All other LA area ranges do not care, as long as it's in an obvious legal configuration.
Angeles, Burro Canyon, Oaktree Gun Club, Raahague's , Insight Shooting Range (pistol caliber only), Sharpshooter's firing range (Rifle caliber course required for rifle calibers), LA Gun Club (range ammo ONLY for longarms), Firing Line (Burbank and Northridge, pistol caliber ONLY), and LAX Range (nominally range ammo only, but they're pretty cool about 556/223) do NOT inspect firearms for serial #'s before shooting, if the firearm is in a legal configuration.Comment

ASR, APTS, Oak tree, Burros have never checked my firearms. Best place is going to a BLM. The only thing about BLM is that you have to drive 50+ miles. Maybe more since you're in the LA area.Comment

I disagree with Angeles and Firing Line as I have seen plenty of firearms in illegal configs and no one said anything. MYOB was the theme of the day. They seem to be more concerned with Ammo and safe handling.Angeles, Burro Canyon, Oaktree Gun Club, Raahague's , Insight Shooting Range (pistol caliber only), Sharpshooter's firing range (Rifle caliber course required for rifle calibers), LA Gun Club (range ammo ONLY for longarms), Firing Line (Burbank and Northridge, pistol caliber ONLY), and LAX Range (nominally range ammo only, but they're pretty cool about 556/223) do NOT inspect firearms for serial #'s before shooting, if the firearm is in a legal configuration.
That said, I have taken my home build AR Pistol to Angeles and never gotten a second look from the RO's. Most are really nice guys.Comment

I have never had a single issue with my 80% AR's. Even at Lytle Creek.
I do carry a copy of a letter in my gun case from the DOJ stating that 80% lowers are legal. I also carry a copy of the Calguns flowchart showing that my featureless AR does not require a bullet button.Comment
