    Where to shoot 80%'s

As the title suggests, where should I go to shoot my future 80% firearms? I am afraid that ranges might treat unserialised or unprofessionally serialised firearms as stolen and either refuse entry, or worse, call the cops on me.

I live in the LA area, so shooting on public land is not really a viable option.

Wylie range inspects lowers on admission?
    Sounds fishy

I live in N Cal. None of the ranges I go to inspect my firearms.

Out of all the ranges I've been to, I've never had anyone inspect any firearm. Sometimes they will inspect rifle ammo but that's about as intrusive as it has ever gotten.

The only time I have ever seen a RSO inspect a firearm is to ensure that it is completely cleared in order to initialize a cease fire period. Or to assist in the clearing/troubleshooting of a malfunction. Never seen one inspect to see if the gun is serialized.

I agree with all the others, I've shot at Burro, Angeles and the LA shooting club (that indoor place in downtown LA) and only thing RSOs have ever checked is weapon being cleared before letting people go down range and making sure ammo isn't magnetic.

So long as your gun is in a legal configuration then you have nothing to worry about.

I've never had a problem at a range. I have had an officer desire to inspect my trunk after getting pulled over on the way to the range.

He saw my locked pistol cases and rifles in unlocked soft cases, but didn't open them up, fwiw.

I have 80% lowers that aren't professionally engraved and have the same concerns as you. They're just nice to have lying around, but I really should get them engraved just to avoid any unpleasantness.

Before folks start squawking about how legal homemade lowers are, I know, but police often confiscate on suspicion and sort it out later. The less suspicion I can arouse the better off I am. Lawyers ain't cheap.

last I heard, it wasn't illegal to shoot an 80% firearm if you aren't a prohibited person. shoot it wherever you want. just don't attract unwanted attention to yourself.

y did you consent to a search? If you are worried and you have you 80% next time then just don't give them permission to search.

Whether they were built from 80% receivers, 0% receivers, 10% receivers or from scratch, it really does not make a difference. As long as they are legal firearms, you shouldn't feel that you need to hide them. If you do, maybe you should reconsider manufacturing one to begin with. That said, I've never has a problem at Angeles. Of course, they don't check SNs or markings in the first place but, the ROs know that most of my AK collection (and 100s of other calgunner's AK collections) were built at my home. So, either grow a pair, manufacture your own legal firearm and enjoy it in public or, keep your TFH on too tight and keep looking over your shoulder.

Go to Angela's Shooting Range of the 210/118 I've shoot mines there before and like everyone one said no one can give you crap for it. It's a hand built gun and that is the end of it you don't have to explain yourself to anyone.
