    Sig Mosquito :/ :/

You know when you see reviews and you hope that they are the exception or if you get the product there is a chance you may get a "better product"....

I hate to say it. I obtained a Sig Mosquito and the thing will NOT eject the brass after the round is fired. Extremely fickle machine from such a high end company is crazy to me. I've already put in a purchase for CCI ammo as everywhere I've read that is what makes this little toy run. All I have 7 H&K's and some Springfields and I can count on one hand over the past 15 years how many failures these have had.

Having said that I picked up a Blackwater P226 and a P220 Elite .45, and both of these things are absolute nail drivers! Extremely tight groups from 15-30 yards. Which again is why it baffles me such a "high end" company like Sig would not have a fix for this Mosquito issue.

Sorry to post something that has been covered before. Just add me to the list of slightly disappointed Mosquito owners. I LOVE HOW THE GUN FEELS, LOOKS, ETC. Just with it would run. I would never rely heavily on this firearm if anything even remotely serious were on the line.
    H&K all the way!

Out of curiosity what kind of ammo have you been using? Mine is definitely not a prize-winner in reliability, but using Mini-Mags or other high velocity stuff it works pretty well. They are not Golden-Turd, 333,555/bulk .22 friendly.
The actual value of above $.02 is less than $.01 after taxes.

I shot American Eagle, Winchester, Remington, and Federal. I was actually surprised that I got a few consecutive rounds off with the Remington which I thought would've been the least reliable.

My 8 year old son and 13 year old daughter received one each for Christmas, they have not had a failure to feed or eject, we've used federal and remington ammo with no issues.

Prepare for the onslaught of "told you so's" and on the other end the rabid defending of it by its few but very vocal fans.

I have had no problems with mine. Several thousand down the pipe and never a failure.

Edit: I have only used Blazer 22lr ammo.

Oh man this is what I was hoping for Maybe I can send it in to them and have them fix the problem if I have an older model or something and they have since fixed it.

By far this is the best feeling .22 I've held in my hand. Really wanting to make it work.

P.S. I'll trade you straight across yours for mine ha ha. Honestly this is the 74th gun I've purchased and I'm happy that your kids are having fun with theirs. More important for those youngsters to get the "good ones"!

That sig requires 40 grain bullets. 36 gr. will malfunction all the time. A buddy has one. Any 40 gr. high velocity works pretty well.
This year will go down in history.... Don't want to offend anybody

No question I'll be using this info. Thanks everyone for writing in. I've read a bunch on this, but always good to talk about it again when it's my own rig. I'll return and report!

I've read all the same finicky posts and just opted to go for the Ruger SR22. It was hard to find one since they went off roster. I'm hoping it will be more reliable but as OP says, reading reviews and real experience can be 2 different creatures. I'm hoping the sr22 lives up to its rep.

I picked one up last year even after reading all the bad reviews. I didn't encounter any issues with mine. Never had to polish the feed ramp or anything. Just cleaned and lubed it.

After only shooting about 300 cci mini mags 40gr round nose through it, I switched over the the Remington golden bullets just to see and haven't had a problem. I also changed out the recoil spring, check your case, they include the lower velocity under the foam.

I've also shot both the 40 gr and the 36 gr bullets through it, treats both the same. Even ran some of the Winchester 555 bulk through and didn't have any issues either.

If you're having trouble finding the mini mags, let me know, I think I have some I could trade you, but will look later when I get home.

Ok sounds good. I have 5,000 rounds of .22 and none of them are mini mags :/ ha ha

I'm definitely going to switch out the recoil spring. I'll give it a good cleaning as well!
