Becasue the lowest common denominator always seems to be able to find a lawyer and if not win, incurr costs to the company and personally to the manager....

I'd take down or edit the picture in a respectful manner.

I would see if you can sniff out the rat - but who knows it could be a higher up that strolled through and saw the pic, so be careful.

so bogus, help him find her an outside league where they appreciate a good player or put her on the boy's team (seriously). what if soccer is a ticket to a college scholarship for her and this dumb coach torpedoes it? school principal needs to know about this too. sorry, but people that dumb themselves down so failures feel better make me cranky and now they want to take down a little girl too.

one reason i think late teens or early 20 years old "snap" is because it took that long to be told "no" or fail for the first time and they can't handle it so they react with violence.

You need to be more creative! Go here and buy a Gadsen flag:
Gadsden and Culpeper is America's official "Don't Tread on Me" outfitter providing inspiring historical information and a wide variety of unique products.

Have wife and kid hold it up for a photo.

                  Load photo on your desktop.

Hang flag in front of house below American flag.

Arrange the same shot but with water pistols? Go totally deadpan, see if you can make the boss laugh.

Same person complains to HR about water pistols... HR will start getting annoyed with them real quick.

You gotta call it though, it is their house... just a shame some busybody gets to be a busybody.

From a management perspective, that is the best way to handle it. By accommodating the person who complained, they have now put themselves in the position of screening images on user desktops for acceptability.

By setting that precedent, they have now become the desktop image police. Upon receiving the complaint, administration should have simply stated that all company computers will display only the default desktop image. Fewer headaches that way.

Of course, that would result in a bunch of people being ticked off at the complainer. Too bad. In reality, it is the only fair way to deal with the situation.

I am kinda bummed. What are your thoughts out there?

We have these privacy screens that go over your computer screen at work that block the view of the screen unless you are directly in front of it. Use one and if anyone complains they were not authorized to be in your work space.

I had this happen at work. A coworker complained about my wifes glamor shot. I pointed out to her that our bosses wife was in the same pose from the same company. And then I demanded she remove her shirtless firefighter calendar from her desk! I told her it's a two way street and I can manage to fined offense in any of the pics on her desk...
