Dunno if this is germane but one of my dealers (i.e., someone I do biz with) is headed to the Reno show. I told him what I'd read here. He said he's aware of the risks but that some of the dealers at the last Reno show needed to be busted.
He said one guy was trying to sell a silenced machine gun. This guy was arrested.
Another guy had a sign to the effect of "Cash sales only. No paperwork."
I personally have known of people who try to stretch the limits of credibility and then complain when they get busted.
One local dealer (Modesto) had an inventory of assault rifles when Kal outlawed such. He took his inventory and cut off the pistol grips and flash suppressors and continued to do business even though the specific rifles had been banned (by name, I think). The DOJ confiscated the entire inventory and he shut down.
I just don't think it's wise to push the issue. We live in perilous times, the 2nd Amendment notwithstanding, and should exercise caution. Law and order. That's us. Or, it should be.
