Hair spray? And if I change the pressure a put a larger nozzle on that 50+ pound thing on my back....

Oh, gee it has a forward grip too.

I'll still ask the DFG guy, I don't hunt but this crap makes no sense at all.

Wait til you get someone's cat or dog. Then you'll be put up on animal cruelty charges. Most likely plead guilty, and get set on probation then there goes your 2nd amendment rights.

Was my understanding that you can use lead as long as you bury or haul off carcas! Or just say "Opps, The squirrel jump in front of the rabbit?"
Other option for vineyard owner is to get a "Rod-Ex" Portable propane/ox unit that gases the hole than has igniter that makes fuel mixture go boom in hole. Will try to add link later.

One would assume that a DFG Warden would have the common sense (and decency) to use discretion when enforcing this regulation. In the case of my friends winery, and other similar Ag endeavors, the lead ammo ban is silly and counter-productive.

                However

DFG has shown over the last few years a total lack of discretion when dealing with citizens. I'm just waiting to hear about DFG's antics on July 1. I'm sure they will form a special task force to deal with those criminals who would dare to shoot Mr Ground Squirrel with a lead bullet. Just wait 'til Deer season rolls around. They'll be stopping every vehicle in the woods for non-lead ammo checks.

The bottom line in this whole mess is that the anti-hunting, anti-gun tree-huggers have found yet another way to restrict our 2A rights. If they make it too much hassle to go do some hunting or recreational shooting, people will stop doing it.

As for me, I'm going to target shoot as much as possible (target shooting is not restricted) and pump as much lead ammo as I can afford into the ground of my beloved PRK. I'll never buy another hunting license or spend another penny on anything that benefits DFG.

That sounds like a fun thing to do. I only wish I had friends like the OP does and someone would invite me to their private property and shoot (Legally) lil animals. Sounds kind of cruel but I do understand needing to get rid of the pest so that grapes can grow healthy and happy...

The BLM, DFG, DOF, the jackholes in Sacramento and the rest of those bastages who have sold out to the greenies don't give a rats azz about anyone but themselves. When will it all end?

I'll be taking both HMR's, the Marlin 917 and the Remmy 597 semi. Hopefully we will obtain images of the event.
I live in Cali can I go with my 308. One other thing, back in the late 1980's in Fairfield (travis airforce base) I saw a flock of condor eating a cow carcus that the state had set out in this field. I would say around 10-15 birds and they were huge.

                          Lead Ban

The lead bullet ban is something I would expect from our legislators and governor, but the lead bullet/rimfire ban on non game animals was instituted by the DFG itself. One can only wonder what they were thinking.
