Springfield Armory 1911 OD Operator (Bought it!!!!!)

Well, maybe they ain't that bad when it comes to customer service after all. After I called them today, about an hour later I got a call from SA saying that they had fixed the sight and they would be shipping the slide today with the slide fixed and that they were sending a Custom SA pistol case for my troubles and that I should have the slide by next Wednesday... I feel a lot better now.

Wonder if it's the Wooden presentation box...that would be cool.

I love my operator. It started life as the base (non- loaded) model but it is slowly getting there.

Congrats on your MC Operator. I went into the gun store 3 years ago wanting to buy one of those and they didn't have one so I ended up with the full-length rail TRP Operator instead, bummer
Here is something to look forward to (with the Gunner grips, nonetheless!).

Chief and you other Operator owners out there....Do the Operators come in stainless?? I really want one- but I'm not into the OD and black....I know the TRP is stainless but that is a handful of cash more......

I tried calling SA to ask that question but they were closed already. I also did an internet search and the only thing that came back was Black or OD..

It will be a 5 day weekend followed by five days leave that I took, so yeah. It is a 4 day off holiday weekend for us. I am here by the freaking window waiting for UPS. On the website it says that my slide is on the truck out for delivery, it also said that it was late because of weather conditions.

Now, I am freaking pissed with Fedex because my Wilson Combat that I bought from Prowler will not get here until the 8th of July and it was sent 2nd day air yesterday. Can't believe that it is going to take 6 freaking days to get from Valencia, CA to San Diego.

FINALLY my freaking slide got home today in a nice custom SA gun box as a freebie for my troubles. The box is made out of wood and it feels very sturdy and weighs about 2lbs, wish I had a camera to take pics...

I will be taking her out again on Sunday. I have another 300 rounds that I need to run through her to finish breaking her in. Hopefully the problem was fixed.
