OLL friendly Range in Eureka

I talked to the FFL you guys are talking about and he said he is more than willing to get some OLL's for me. i'm going to try to order as many as 6 but probably shooting for 4-5 (no pun intended) and found a good source on sun devil billet lowers for 150. I'm going to try for 2 billets, a mega gator, cmmg, and possibly another stag. I've got a meeting with him on sunday afternoon if all goes well he's going to order some up.

so thanks again red I called craig and he seemed very cool and said he has no problem and has to call the DoJ(?) but I think he is just going to run a quick check on me or something and get back tomorrow about that. I ordered two of the cmmg complete midlengths thats a hellava good deal that aloha has going.

All was well, the only bummer was that coleman tyler has run out of the MEGA lowers for some reason. I'm gonna try to grab a sun devil billet lower from them and get that going. He's a really nice and ridiculously busy man. I'd rather pay him than any of the shops in our area because he's just another local guy trying to do the public a favor.

Well, as of now, craig is the last guy on the north coast here and he said no go for the lowers as of now. Now what, should we head to a place down south or what from here? Can anybody recommend a place that is relatively close to eureka, or any info would be great. Thanks

Hey bomber i think that guy in ukiah just sent me a message very nice of him to step up for what's right. But with the sales tax he's charging I will check with pro sports and the secondhand general store thing here in eka first because the cost would be about the same without the drive.

Wow, Paul's Guns isn't doing OLL transfers anymore? I was planning on calling him as soon as my next upper was ready to ship for an OLL transfer. Crap.

I do remember that the FFL in Garberville was the only local FFL willing to transfer a stripped AK receiver two years ago. I don't remember the name of the place, though. Maybe they're willing to do OLL transfers?

I would hold off on the garberville FFL for a week or two. I was in there today and he asked me to remove my OLL rifle ((for sale)) picture because he was expecting a Doj visit any day now .But he's ((good -to -go On the OLL thing))

But I found a place in G-ville who HAS COMMON SENSE . . . his answer on OLL's was that he doesnt order them to sell in store, but if a customer wants to order a LEGAL firearm then why shouldn't he do the transfer?

All the other guys I listed have no business at all dealing guns, they should be selling paintball gear if they are so afraid of some controversy.

Actually, to be fair to them, if you were in there shoes would you do a transfer that could possibly cost you your FFL just to make $25? I wouldnt.

Thats why most are sympathetic to your problem, they just dont want to do something that could cost them their business.

Its already hard enough for them to sell handguns anymore, as most being mfg'd dont have the requirements to be sold in ca.

Trust me, they would love to take your money, but not at the cost of them losing their license. If you want someone to be mad at, direct it at the DOJ.

I go into Old West Shootery all the time and try to buy a gun from Kevin but it seems like every time it falls through for some reason or another. He was going to get me a Barrett 99 but his dealer couldnt come up with one, and I waited over 2 months. Another time, I wanted a Five seven in Dark Earth, but thats not on the legal list for ca. Recently , went in to get a XDM, but low and behold, not legal in ca either. Im probably just going to go down there and buy a socom II from him just to give him some business.

This process is frustrating and I do understand what the dealers are up against but you know what it takes adversity to make progress. Sure it's a loophole, but loopholes are loopholes and so WTF man it's not illegal, and it's not like I called up saying "yo yo mang wutz up wit summa dem ARs??"

I think that Kevin ought to try STOCKING some guns, and stop raping the market with his 100 dollar transfers. That place is a joke, not even open saturday-monday!! That place is a wank-shop.
