Settling a case is no indication wether one wins or loses. I'd be willing be bet they just did not want to fight anymore with the local police department. Being that local LEO provides security for the event, and no one on the board wanted to lose their political appointments.

I don't think a federal court would have sided with Plaintiffs in 2006.

just called the fair again. lady stated they are state owned property and state run.

the LT told me they could restrict me because it was private proprerty

the state trusts me to carry a gun while i transport inmates to the hospital and standby in ER rooms all day long.

they trust me to carry concealed in public all day long.

the feds trust me to conceal carry in all 50 states.

but god forbid i enter the state owned fair

I'm from San Diego and I remember that CCW drama. I was recognized a few times off duty. I was usually carrying and glad nothing came from it. It's a genuine pucker factor to be in public with your wife and children and have somebody approach you and greet you by title. Then again, back in that day (1980's) there wasn't so much negativity about carrying off duty. Now it's all about the drama.

OP your in law enforcement. How do you think your C.O.'s and co workers will react knowing your going after another L.E. agency. It wont end well for you. Be prepared to potentially lose your job. CDCR will want to save face if it goes bad. Just think it 100% through.

Uh oh, you went there........LEO's call us Civi's.....always have, always will.

Until fairly recent times, most police called citizens "citizens". It is a term of respect, and indicates that they are people with rights. Use of the term "civilian" by LEOs is indicative of the militarization of Law enforcement into paramilitary security forces more concerned with maintaining order than in upholding the law.

You are not post certified. Please show proof of this because you cant. If you were post certified then you could lateral to a police agency which u cant. You really need to get your facts streight.

You are aware that there are different POST certifications in CA, right?

For example, there is a POST certification for Dispatchers that is quite different than the POST certification for Peace Officers.

While a dispatcher and a patrol officer may both have POST certifications, those certifications are not interchangeable.

The US government trusts me to carry a gun in a foreign country where we have little legal reason to occupy and to shoot foreign citizens while wearing the US flag, but they don't trust me to conceal carry domestically. And I guarantee the enemies I made overseas are better trained, better funded, and more proficient than your so called "enemies".
