Hmm... Perhaps you're to young to remember the LA riots or didn't get around to watching Assaulted. Not only did it happen but it was a short drive away from Whittier. Shtf isn't just the big shtf, it's the riots and Katrina's too.
Remember it well, nothing happened unless you visited or had a business near there. Did that incident put you in a panic and make you run out to buy guns and ammo? Hardly a need to be overly stocked and armed.

i bought 5 of the federal 550 bulk packs last summer at WM for 19 bucks each. thought that was plenty because i started shooting other calibers mostly. well my grand sons can go threw 300 rounds of 22lr shooting my bolt savage and ruger mk 2 pistol in about 3 hrs. i am down to about 1,500 rounds right now. i could have bought some at the gun show for 60 bucks but felt that was way to much.

What I learned: In California, with new laws always around the corner, the rush on Ammo is NEVER over. You can never have enough Ammo to prepare yourself to ride out the eternal shortage.

I've learned that so far, this Independence Day has been a lot quieter than last year.
There is no justification for the public servant police to be more heavily armed than the law-abiding public they serve...Unless...the government's intention is to be more powerful than the people.

because as a group we are getting less savvy and more watched. Less independent and more controlled.

What I learned you ask? By this time next year I'll have double the amount of ammo and the following year double that amount. Also I still got ammo but can always get more. I learned from 2008, did you?

The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.

I never ran low mostly because I reload therefore I kept my factory ammo supply at pre-shortage levels. The shortage isn't over yet so we don't know how long ammo will be in short supply. I would like to have some more CCI 22LR and perhaps some primers. I think if we have a 4 year shortage, I might run low on powder and primers. I'm going to fix that as soon as those two things ease up a bit.

SHTF sounds like some big event like Woodstock or something. Everyone's like "gearing up for SHTF 2013. Its gonna be a good one..."

Can't we call this fantasy event something more dignified. Did we take this term from a Steven Segal movie??

How about we replace it with "a time in which I will need to use my ammunition/1000 boxes of oreos"

That way we don't sound like psychos when people ask why we buy so much ammunition.

Lesson learned: find em cheap and stack them deep!

You things are bad when prices change overnight and people are fighting over a measly box of 22.

I remember I stocked up a bit, awhile before things jumped off. My friend told me I was wasting my money essentially, buying all that ammo, and that it was unnecessary.

I told all my friends to start stocking up back in 2010, no one listened to me and then they came to me looking for ammo.

I learned that with all this hoarding, American gun owners must have billions of rounds stockpiled. Think about this any country or anyone wishing to do the US harm!
