Gun was put on hold by the DOJ

Keep calling them and bugging them man, are they still not picking up the phones when you call directly?forgot to reply back to this thread....just got a call from the doj after leaving them 2 messages. the guy who called me back was real nice and unfortunately he did say he couldn't give me any specific info on my dros delay but he did ask about any convictions (I do have a misdemeanor for a financial thing about 10 years ago) and he said that it was probably just that and they need the courts to provide more info. anyways, he told me both the DOJ and I are kinda in a waiting period right now (even though he couldn't confirm this was actually what was happening and was just an assumption).

Might be the best choice at this point, though I've read of people just randomly getting their guns cleared after 3 months. Do you think you'll try and purchase a different firearm if you sell it back? I think some shops charge a fee (of course they find a ay to screw you tooWonderful. The courts are backed up like Dianne Feinstein after eating a block of cheese.
I'm tempted to cancel the sale and somehow sell it back at a loss to the MFR. But that's not going to help me in the future.
Are we counting from the day of the sale or date of pickup we were supposed to have?
Day 27 since purchase.
I hate this state times 8.

Picked up my pistol today.
27 days.
About an hour after my last post my FFL dealer called and said that DOJ had cleared up whatever was rong. They still did not give a reason.
Hopefully - this is probably a pipe dream - they annotated the correction and I won't face this again.

It's a .22 LR.
Mad by Hammerli/Walther.
I don't compete, I just think it's cool and really wanted it.
There is another pistol: Benelli MP90S that I want. Luckily they haven't been imported yet so I have time to pay off this one.
I'll stop buying guns when they stop making them!
Good thing I have plenty ammo for it.
It would be even more sad if I finally go it and had no ammo.
The Benelli I have wanted for 19 years but never had the money.

I received a call yesterday and the hold was lifted. It really is an odd coincidence that these are happening shortly after the complaining on this thread...
Anyways, I'm glad this is over with....and no, they did not say why it was on hold in the first place.Comment

I am stuck in limbo with a gun I sold. Sold it to a member here who read a review after we did the DROS and decided he did not want the gun anymore. We tried to stop the paperwork at the FFL (same day) but it had already been submitted to DOJ.
Went back the next day, signed some papers with the FFL and gave a full refund to the buyer; I was just going to keep the gun, but since then another member contacted me to buy it. Was told by the dealer that the DOJ was going to handle this as a new purchase by me. I had purchased a gun 11 days earlier, so I had to wait 30 days now.
Waited my 30 days, dealer calls the DOJ with a question, and is told it is no longer a new purchase by me, and the 30 day wait was not needed. However, they put a hold on the gun (which was new and I had owned for 25+ years) and it is now in limbo. The initial deal was they would call and release it in 8-10 days most likely. We're at day 17 and they will not give the FFL any info, basically said to wait until they call. They're not doing a background check on me so that's not the issue. They just decided to stop processing the paperwork for some reason. They will not tell me anything by phone, do not answer the emails, and will not return calls to the FFL.Last edited by camcojb; 06-27-2013, 2:09 PM.Comment

Be sure to post some pics when it's finally free! Congrats too!
Yeah very odd, more people should post in here to see if it's not just some odd coincidence.Comment
