That is what I was hoping... but that is not what happened when I pulled the trigger - nor is that what was recorded... we can wait for the video.

But what the round I shot did was... nothing... for several hundred feet - then it exploded like a starburst downrange.

The 2nd round I shot was a dud.

(Bill shot the 1st one on Friday; and only reported being blinded by it).

What happened in Nevada, Stays in Nevada

The final day... cleanup teardown... And.. Exodus time!

Sunday... 8am cleanup... and cleanup... and cleanup... then starts the teardown. Course by the time I grabbed my camera; most of you were long gone...







Then starts the plan of Exodus! PackNRats... pickup is... dead... or is it... first we tried putting it on the car trailer... no dice... long wheel base; wouldn't fit... but... wait... why did it not leak any tranny fluid when we had it up and down on the trailer... it should have leaked... MAYBE... we just dump the remaining tranny fluid into his pickup... then put his 4x4 onto the trailer... and I'll use my Van to tow the 4x4.



The tranny is leaking nothing... perhaps it was desert skum; maybe 10000s of scorpions crawled into the tranny and are now using their spattered bodies as a new gasket seal... maybe... the 1 quart of tranny fluid we put in - isn't enough to make any difference. We should take the "safe route" right? WRONG... if that tranny is doing what I think - and it's playing possum and as soon as that tranny fluid gets hot - it's gonna spray all over the desert floor again... we better make for the straightest line possible. PackNRat confirms he's going to follow the trail he used to come in on Friday - straight through the not so dry - drylake...

I'm ready to go:



But... SloGuy must - DO THE DANCE.



Now we are truly ready... wait... I'm a 6000lbs van, w/650lbs of water, and 500lbs of gear... towing a 2000lb trailer with a monster overbuilt 4000lbs 4x4... and... I'm 2WD...

Oh well... here we go...
