So... we blazed across the not-so-dry dry-lake... and...
WE MADE IT... yeah - I know... you figured we all died out there... ghost posting and all that...
I think PackNRat - bought all the tranny fluid in the gas station!
I see 3 bottles he's still about to dump in - sitting next to him!
I was loaded down - and at times with wet patches in the not-so-dry drylake... I was down to only 12MPH... then I'd hit a dry-patch and get back to about 20MPH... but... we made it.
All the while SLOGuy was riding wing man with us, making sure we both got out... I think it was "Do the Dance" and "Hemi" power that made the day! Ok well maybe not...

DOH! I should have taken pics... but didn't think about it...
Have you all looked at the underside of your vehicles?
Well... don't bother looking - get a firehose and just start spraying if you haven't already... I just dumped probably 20 lbs of silt from various places on the undercarriage... and that was AFTER I gave my ride a thorough cleaning last week.
I took a look - because I noticed my steering started squeaking badly for no apparent reason a couple days ago... after poking my head under - I found POUNDS of sand/silt/etc... built up on nearly every part of the steering components... good blasting with the garden hose got it all off...

the only way to get the playa dust off your ride....is to get a new ride.
the dust is everywere on the underside even in the frame.
kanda like that commercial for that muffen,,,nooks and crannies.
next year i just might bring my trailer and have aircondition... you can enjoy some also..pay by the hour
.
if not then i will have a tent water cooler, just so the soda cans do not explode.
yes explode i had 10 cans out of a 12 pack burst open. had a puddle of 7-up in the tent. if only i had know there was a cooler full of ice only 15 feet from my camp.
next year will be even better.
