        They say it was invented by veterens, I could totally see that if your an amputee. For me I don't even shoot regular handguns with my arm locked like that.

              Don't get it. So now you have a really heavy awkward pistol still with only one hand holding it and only one point of contact. How is that any better than a pistol?

                I shoot my AR pistols from the shoulder all the time, nobody gives me any grief over it.

                I even tie a towel or shemagh around the buffer tube to not destroy my shoulder shooting it. The infamous "Improvised recoil pad"

                The SBR laws define what a weapon is and how it is built, NOT how you shoot it.

                If I shoot my existing AR pistol from the shoulder as is, there's NOTHING against the law about that. The weapon was built to be compliant with Handgun / Pistol law, and that's that.

                Are my "cheater pads" grey area? Yes, moreso than these items, which DO have an ATF letter

                  The phrase "designed to be fired from the shoulder" is the key as to why this is not an SBR. Not designed to be fired from the shoulder = not an SBR. Whether it is mechanically possible to fire from the shoulder isn't an issue as I see it. After all, I could wrap a rubber sleeve around the butt of my Glock 17 and then jam the butt of the pistol into my shoulder when I fire it... does that make the Glock an SBR? I think not.

                  I can see its utility for someone with limited hand/arm strength/mobility... and none for anyone else. Another factor which, in my mind, removes it further from SBR-land.

                    I believe the original purpose of the product was for handicapped shooters.

                          BATFE FTB says a handgun brace does not make it a Title 2 firearm and is legal on a Title 1 handgun.

                            A handgun brace is CA legal and does not run afoul CA's assault weapons or SBR laws.
