It was on the side yard to be exact. And yes I don't visit the side yard all that often, nor have I ever had a package left there in 25 years of living on the same street.

FYI, delivery failure is a very serious issue at the postal service. I have spoken to many postal workers through my work and can verify how serious they take these issues. If you want results keep going higher in the chain, supervisor, post master, postal inspector. Any theft of a package is a Federal crime and they will investigate whether this has happened or just "misdirected". Someone will find your package if you get them to light a fire under their backside.

Made a trade on here and the package was supposed to be delivered this past Saturday. Tracking shows that it was delivered but the key to the parcel box was never in my mailbox. I've tried calling their Customer Support, Consumer Affairs and spoke to the manager of the local postal service. They are basically saying that if no one returns or brings me the items I am SOL. Pretty lame as it was parts for my first AR build and I was really looking forward to putting it together.

Make sure to get Signature confirmation or insurance if you send anything out of high value..

In the future have your items "regristered" in full value of the article. That way if it's lost a signature will show who signed for it and that can be disputed. USPS must pay you back for the mishap.

Last time it happened to me, I had given the shipper the wrong zip code. I received the package about a week after the tracking number trace said it was delivered.

In the future have your items "regristered" in full value of the article. That way if it's lost a signature will show who signed for it and that can be disputed. USPS must pay you back for the mishap.

Registered mail doesn't do any good in these situations if the people at the post office are too lazy to try to help. My $3,000 package was registered, sitting in the "secured" area where it was supposed to be, and still could not be located for about two weeks because the supervisor was too lazy to get off his *** and actually go look. The only action he actually took was to ask the mail carrier if he remembered the package about 5 days after the missed delivery. He even avoided me when he finally called to tell me it was lost and I should request a new one by calling my work number on a Saturday, despite a specific request to call me at home. He remains the most useless and incompetent person I have ever dealt with in any customer service situation.

I would not use any registered mail.The only time i used it i had a lot of trouble with the idiots at the post office.I would only think it would mark it for STEALING.

I worked as a mailman for a little bit. To save time some mailmen scan packages as delivered when they load the truck in the morning. It may have been misplaced in the wrong bin and a mailman on a different route scanned it; now it's sitting at the local post office on a rack.

Yeah, don't give up just yet. I had a registered mail package worth about $3,000 go missing after a missed delivery once. Post office supervisor, who was the least helpful person I have ever dealt with, basically told me it was probably re-directed and if it shows up we'll call. It showed up two weeks later, after Mr. Unhelpful had contacted me to tell me it was lost and I should ask the vendor for a replacement, in the post office holding area for domestic registered mail. Turned out it had been sitting there (exactly where it was supposed to be) the entire time but nobody had bothered to look. Good luck.

I had this happen to me too. The last time USPS lost my stuff I had the vendor insinuate that what I was claiming was fraud. It bothered me that they treated me like that, but they nontheless made it right.

Its no wonder USPS is going under. They suck and I hate shipping items through them.

USPS delivered an empty carton tube that was supposed to contain a barrel. Bought it off the EE in Dec of 2012.
I couldn't go after the seller, he mailed it. The mailperson just dropped it off at the end of my driveway under the mailbox.
It was insured too.
Tried filing insurance claim. Was denied for being an illegal part. What?? A barrel is illegal?? Appealed. Ok now they want detailed receipts and shipping receipt. Sent them the PayPal transaction and the shipping receipt from the seller and also included the shipping label.
Months later denied again. Saying they want the actual purchase receipt and receipt to prove I had insurance on package. What??? The PayPal transaction was not good enough. The actual shipping label from the package and receipt from their own website for click-to-ship not good enough!!??

I just gave up. It's a scam and now I know why they are losing money and will probably get shutdown.

So far i've spoken to both carries in person, the back up who was supposed to be delivering on that day said that she doesn't even remember being in the area around the time that the scan shows it was delivered. I've also called the Supervisor/Manager of the local branch who said he would call me back in 1 hour and never did.. Also spoke to the secretary of the Post Master General who mentioned he would call back within an hour and ever did..

I think I am going to have to go pay them a visit in person..

I was going to make my own thread and seen this one, similar situation to yours.

I was expecting some 10/22 magazines from midway yesterday. Tracking data showed it was delivered but I didn't find it at my door or in the mailbox (a community multi box mailbox.) I called the local office today and after looking they said that the package would be delivered today. What they didn't realize was the package they found was another box of 10 round pmags i was expecting today.

I tracked down the postman today when he was delivering and he admitted seeing it and delivering it yesterday, but alluded to him possibly putting it in the wrong box, but never outright admitted he could have made a mistake. I would figure if the neighbors got it they would give it to me but I haven't seen it turn up on my doorstep.

Next step I'm guessing is if I don't get it Monday then i'll have to get the supervisor involved. I don't know if Midway would refund my money if the package showed it was delivered to me.
