    As a paperweight? Maybe.

As a finished lower through an FFL? Probably. If you didn't inform the buyer though it was "totally out of spec" you would be commiting fraud.

So, you sell/buy a totally out of spec lower that started out as an 80% and don't use an FFL? If you got caught you might find yourself defending that it's still only 80% and not a, say, 85+% lower which out of spec problems could be corrected and still finished into a firearm.

I wouldn't buy anybody's "out of spec" frames.

Do you want to buy a model Battleship? I have one for sale.

Do you see how that works? I'm sure CL idiots are just pulling the first photo of an AR lower they can find. I wouldn't buy an 80% lower, or anything shady, of anyone on CL.

        Pretty sure that's a felony
If what was advertised was not a firearm (80% lower), and the deal was made for that, then I don't see this as any different than ordering a block of aluminum on the internet, and receiving a fully milled lower.

I would let the seller know that he sent you an actual firearm and not the 80% lower you ordered, and that you are cancelling payment and sending it right back to him, the original owner of the firearm.

If you haven't seen it with your own eyes,
or heard it with your own ears,
don't make it up with your small mind,
or spread it with your big mouth.

So the pic showed what looked like a 100% lower but the text said 80%. Classic C/L. Check out the personal ads, cars for sale ads, RV for sale ads, etc. Same thing. The pic may be sending one message but what shows up is entirely different. Lesson? Don't believe anything in C/L is legit, accurate or actually exists in reality.

If you show up and the 80% is a >80%, say clearly in a loud voice (for the benefit of the surveillance mics) "You're trying to sell me an illegal firearm? That's how you guys killed Randy Weaver! My homeowners association doesn't allow armored vehicles or sieges by the BATFE, sorry!" turn around and walk away.
