purchasing an 80% lower that is 100% complete???

Ive seen a bunch of ads on CL for "80% Lowers" and the pics have them milled and looking 100%...

who is at fault and to be charged if one were to buy what was advertised as an 80% lower, only to to find out when they got home that it was a 100% lower? (Ill call it a 99% lower, because it still needs anodizing :P)

In my opinion, both. Ignorance is no excuse under the law. Some would argue that it is not ignorance. I guess you could claim that you didn't inspect it when you bought it and maybe that would fly. Depends on the DA.

If I couldn't inspect it somehow and already took possession of it I would have it engraved with a serial number and take responsibility for making it.

Why is it so many people don't understand how the Internet works? There is no delete, if you put it on the web it's out there, period.

If you bought one and didn't realize until after the transaction, you might be able to say you were a victim of fraud.

If you see the ad, post a thread about it, decide to buy it any way, probably a lot harder to play the "victim".

i wouldnt buy an 80% that had been milled by some random dude from craigslist.

There is no point in deleting. Within seconds of the thread being created, this thread has already been indexed, copied, and cached by computers that the operators of this forum have no control over. You cannot unring things posted to the Internet.

As for not talking about it, nobody in this thread did anything illegal. As for the person on Craigslist, who cares. People breaking gun laws (whether they are good laws or not) make all gun owners look bad in the eyes of those looking to increase restrictions. If he's not breaking the law and just using the wrong image then there is no threat to him.
