Two Guns One Cup. I mean Person.

Tomorrow, there is legislation being enacted that restricts firearms ownership to only 2 guns per household. It can be whatever you want (handgun, shotgun, musket, rifle, etc) in any combination you want but only 2 guns total.

You can order as many replacement parts for it like springs, pins, hammers, grips, but NOT the caliber.

If you had to thin your collection thus, what would be your 2 choices?

I think I would probably go with a Sig P228 or P226 in 357 SIG and a Noveske AR-10 (can change barrel length but not caliber). Of course I'm a gun noobie so those seem like good choices to me of the guns I've tried. I'm interested in reading what people choose.

This isn't some SHTF situation so you don't have to worry about the living dead, diseased infidels, alien invasion, or fighting men in black helos. This also somewhat negates the need for trying to choose a particularly common caliber.

I don't think I'd pick two firearms. Rather I think I would suddenly 'find' 50 or 60 birth certificates living at my residence.

        ewww... that's a gross reference...

        but on the other hand...
AR15 (because I can have a buncha different uppers... whatever the caliber of the upper is, is the caliber the rifle is at the time... unless in this freaky world the uppers are restricted in which Im still ok)
        P229R in 40SW (I prefer 9mm, but 40SW frame allows me to switch between 40, 9, and 357)

oh, and I would promptly organize a calguns range day in the desert where we will be mysteriously robbed at gunpoint by a single masked man who would then take away all our guns save for two for each person. yes, officer, that's exactly what I said....

hmmmm. What defines a household then? One roof? Or one mailing address? Would many mailboxes count?

I don't think I could break up the 'family.'

It doesn't matter... All I have left is one musket and a old fowling piece.

I would definitly NOT own a registered .22 or hunting rifle...

nothing that works well with subsonic ammo or is acurate from long range to effectivly dispach 'game animals'

Married life is a pain. There are always those new bills. New house, then upkeep, then student loans, then when school is over it's time to start thinking about a family, etc - they just never end. If guns became that hard to keep, I'd probably sell off all my guns to invest in a second septic tank for my growing family.
