At the local gun store today....

Today I went to a local gun store and could not help and hear the guy working the counter telling some poor newbie that his SKS is better then any AR, and that .223 wounds and does not kill I thought oh God not this again!
Then they started talking handguns and he started telling this guy that the only real caliber is a 45ACP and that rest require multiple shots. Then he started telling the guy that the military is going to go with 45ACP instead of 9mm.
After the newbie left I asked to look at Glock 26 and he started to tell me that Glocks are trash (If you did know I am a Glock whore) and recommended a Ruger. I asked him for some Large Rifle primers, he started to tell me how to load them! lol I finally had enough and said " Hey man relax, what is wrong with you?"
Got my stuff and left!

I know this has nothing to do with nothing but I had to vent.

id ask that tool if i could buy 223 for half hte price of x39 and 9mm for 1/4 the price of 45 since they are little nancy rounds that cant kill

cant expect me to pay an unfair price according to his a hole logic

Glock= Taco bell lol it has changed everything, almost every company makes a Glock clone. I have owned many guns from 1911 to Glock and back and there is only 1 gun I trust for SHTF and that's Glock

Good for you. That is excellent. I sometimes wish more gun store owners would be required take a CS class, and/or learn to keep their tongues in their mouths before they insert their boots. If he did, his business would go up.

Its as bad as going to the dentist and having them comment on previous work. 1) You have no way of judging the work, and 2) Now you question the competency of the dentist working on you.

Yeah, I got the whole "I won't touch OLL's" story from one of the local gun stores. I just laughed, bought what I wanted and walked out.

'Keyboard Commando' has nothing on 'Self-Appointed Deputy District Attorney' who lurks around shooting ranges pointing out potential illegalities and dropping unsolicited anecdotes about some guy he heard of that got arrested last week.

Thats what gets me. Some of the people who work in a gun store feel like they know everything there is to know about guns. Now there are a LOT of gun store workers who KNOW THEIR S**T. but there are some who feel like telling you what is good and bad. I had a guy at Turners ( went there with a buddy) tell me his dad had a Ruger and the guy dropped it from about 2 feet away on a desk and he said the frame broke. I just kind of stared at him and when he was done I said Funny I won two rugers and one is a P 89 and i have had NO probelms with it and I shoot the hell out of it. Then he said no matter you guys want this gun. pointed my buddy to a 1400$ kimber. I jsut laughed and told him if he is gonna spend that kind of $ hes buying a sig or a glock not your overpriced Kimber. There is a reason I dont shop turners. i went with my buddy cause I knew they were gonna try and sell him the most ridiculous priced gun they had cause he doesnt know crap about guns.

Nothing wrong wth a Kimber....but for the reliabilty without having to worry about maintainance and harsh environment...GLOCK...

I'd take a Kimber or any other quality 1911 over a Glock or a Sig any day. Of course, I'm not alone. Kimber has supplied the US Shooting Team with guns. Kimber was chosen to make the sidearm for the largest and most elite SWAT unit in the US. Glocks are issued to all FBI agents but, they can upgrade to a Springfield 1911 if they choose to. NYPD carries modified Glocks because most of their officers cant be trusted with a normal 1911. Why are so many people willing to spend so much on quality 1911? Maybe, they know something that you don't. Of course, this is just my opinion, you still have the right to your opinion even if you can't support it with facts. If you feel like shooting an overpriced Kimber or two or, want to have a contest, your Glock against my Kimber let me know. I'm positive that any of my Kimbers can shoot smaller groups than your Glock.
