What do you guys use for protection when camping

I just got back from camping, Took the picture of my protection against the wild in the off chance I needed it.

Know and behold, a mountain lion came to our camp sight, i didn't even notice how close it got until the next morning. Saw paw prints, and the lion stole another campers bag of food. There was only two of us camping, this was not an official campsite, no bathrooms, no showers, no light, no tables. Basically real camping.

I herd foot steps, sounded like a mid-sized mountain lion, so I kepted the fire burning through the night. Also have seen bears, usually they don't bother campers while the camp fire is burning. The camper next to us had a glock 23.

I had a remington 870 wingmaster, with pistol grip and barrel cut to exact minimum legal length. Overall length and barrel length are all legal. And i had a taurus 605 357magnum. The shotgun stayed locked in the car except for at night when we were sleeping in the tent. The revolver which is my trunk gun was on me. All guns were in locked containers when we were traveling and or in areas of population.

My protection while I was camping, What do you guys take with you?

props to you for keeping it real dude...nowadays when people post up their camping pics there is usually a big motorhome/RV in the pic...
If you suck with irons you will suck with optics. The difference is the aimpoint will allow you to suck faster and a scope will give you a closer look at how much you suck.

I carry my .40 with me while camping. I also keep my 870 in the tent right next to the AR.

During the hunting season, my elders keep their rifles to their side when sleeping. That habit was probably from their military days. I just keep whichever sidearm I have with me during that expedition.

Just one more note -- it looks like you are Asian. Depending on your nationality and beliefs, your camping spot isn't very ideal.

I usually use Bug Off and sunscreen. Never had a problem.

Why would my nationality make this spot not ideal? I was born and raise in America, went camping since i was very young, Also father is a military man as well raise under his roof, with his teachings. Now in my early 30s married and still enjoying the outdoors.

Bug off and sun screen is a must, but it won't stop a bear/mountain lion from wanting to eat you.

Not particular about my gun during camping. Depends if I am deer hunting, bird hunting, or just tramping about. I guess I always feel better with a semi auto rifle, but I often make do with just a sidearm. In addition to a gun, DOGS are what will give your camp real security.

Never mind. It's a thing for some SE Asians.

That wire mesh stuff looks wicked. Anyone know if it'll be banned?

M&P40 usually. I might throw in some slugs in the 870 at night time.

But everyone responsible person is usually carrying at our campsite since everyone goes off to do their own thing during the day.

Alcohol and guns do not mix. This is just for a photo op.

Forget "protection". This state is so insane they'd probably charge you with a crime if you gave the lion indigestion from eating you.

Im sorry I camp in a Toyhauler.
I have 4 walls and an Italian Mastiff for protection.
Also a 12 gauge and a 1911, and a couple of other assorted rifles, pistols, and shot guns.
I also have an ill tempered red headed wife, she is more dangerous than the mastiff.
