Not sure I have this posted in the right spot. Two activities for those who live near Manteca. (Both are open to the general public).
Manteca Sportsmen has a FREE kids shoot 1st Friday of every month. Next class is Friday, April 4th at 6pm. Class begins with basic safety instruction, followed by close supervision in the indoor .22 range. While you may bring your own equipment, rifles, ammo, eyes, and ears are provided. (I've seen some camoed kids bolt guns) Lowest age is case by case but as a parent, if you think your child is responsible enough, bring them out. This is open for ages up to 17. Refreshments are provided and awards will be given out.
Secondly, if you need to get your paperwork signed for CMP (form here), to purchase a rifle and would like an easy way to qualify read below.
The Manteca Sportsman / Stockton Rifle High Power match for this month is Sunday April 2nd, just a days from now. We will be shooting the regular match. ($10) Squading starts at 8:30 AM and the match begins at 9:00.
Participants may shoot any match type rifle and may use a scoped rifle if they wish. Additionally we have M1 Garands and Springfield1903s that may be borrowed (if you shoot a club Garand or Springfield you will have to use club 30.06 ammo $20.00 for 60 rounds). If you would like to shoot a club Garand or Springfield 1903 please let me know by email so we can get organized.
The course of fire is our standard High Power Match. If you bring the paperwork to the match, and compete, the range master would be happy to sign if for you.
Hope to see you there.
