Damn there are a lot of misconceptions, myths and just flat rude behavior in this thread.

YES pot does make you slothful in many instances. Some more than others but the effect is there. In rare cases metabolism can counter this.
Yes, it is illegal no matter what California suggests or your Doctor writes. This is California remember? We have laws here that are regularly bounced or ignored as invalid.
As I recall the medicinal aspect of marijuana comes from the THC which can be obtained pharmaceutically so smoking it is not a requirement in most cases. The need to smoke marijuana for its medicinal attributes is really very rare.
No, marijuana is NOT harmless. I can tell you from people I've known and jobs I've had, if you want to limit your career potential in most fields light up.
Marijuana will make you as unable to perform some tasks as alcohol will, the idea that it is 'less debilitating' or 'less damaging' is self delusion.

No, it's not good for you and NO, it DOES NOT go with firearms.
    That fact is indisputable.

Regardless of your feelings about this, I am far less than happy with the rudeness and name calling in this thread.

Simply put, if you can not respond without name calling or insults, do not respond. It's that simple.

coke will further your career progression much better.

have a coke and a smile

As far as all the untruths and misguided stereotypes of MJ use and it not being a "norm" ... please. I don't smoke but have countless friends acquaintances that do.

Hell my parents don't smoke pot either, but they tell me all the time that the neighbors house smells like pot. I've smelt it myself a few times, the neighbor, who is a city cop has parties every few weeks with their officer friends who like to park in the fire lane and stuff. Doesn't bother me.

My chemistry professor about 10 years ago would smoke every day, woke up at 6am every morning to go surfing though and owned some kind of environmental research company that he regularly went on expeditions with.

My brokers best friend is a very eccentric persian jew, cool as hell. Smokes pot all the time. I did his 1003 and 1008, when I ran his verification of deposit, his bank statement said 60 million dollars, I knew he had about 200million in property but no ideal he had that much cash just sitting around.

There have been cases (one in Petaluma I think) of people who had medicinal permits defending their property with a firearm vs burglars, miscreants etc.

It might be worth looking into whether they were brought up on possession charges or not.

If you're sick enough to need medical marijuana, you shouldn't be out shooting.

Agreed. Most of the people here don't know what they're talking about.

I'm with you, rivviepop. I don't smoke and I think it's not the wisest thing to do, but if you want to do it it's your right. The fidgeting by our Federal government to sweep this issue under the rug angers me to no end.
