College Students and Firearms?

Yeah I cant wait for my Political Science class, this semester we are going to debate some of the things Obama is going after in his 2nd Term. I am going to S**T on some liberals. I swear last semster in my english class some libtard had the nerve to tell me that I shouldnt be able to own an assualt weapon. I then asked them if they knew what state we were in at they did not get it?

I am a freshman at CSUN (California State University of Northridge) and I have noticed this semester many of my professors and fellow students bad mouthing the Second Ammendment. Its is almost like the liberal professors are trying to brainwash my fellow students. I have managed to change two of my fellow students at csun views on firearms by taking them shooting, but it seems like I am fighting a losing battle. Can any other college students relate to this?

When I was at UCSD I heard it all the time.

My Criminology Professor (read: grad student) said that the reduction in crime in the early 2000's was due to an increase in gun control. I asked her where she got that info and she said, "The studies that have been done on it." My reply was, "Okay, what studies specifically? I'd like to read them." Dead silent. Go figure.

However, I did have at elast one passionately pro-2A professor who was awesome. I wore my NRA hat around campus and never got anything outside of a positive reaction.

I'm taking some courses at a community college out here in CO and yesterday I wore my NRA hat and had a guy thank me. Also, one of my professors saw my hat and quietly asked if I was carrying. I said yes and that I'd prefer to not make a big deal of it. He said, "No, no, no. I just wanted to say thanks."

Took me by surprise.

Going to school out of state I really don't have to deal with all the anti-gun sentiment. Been to school in Idaho and Utah and pretty much every professor that I ever had who has brought up the subject of guns was talking about how they bagged an elk over the weekend or were promoting concealed carry. Another perk about going out of state is that you ARE the Hegemony; I've been in plenty of Political Science classes and there are only a handful of moderate liberals who were completely outnumbered by like minded people to myself. A RealTree camouflage jacket is completely appropriate attire for class and talking about guns with your friends will not result in gasps from those around but rather result in someone asking if you can take them to the range next weekend.

When I was at Davis, I argued 2A with damn near everyone. But not that I'm gone, and transferring out of state, I feel like it will be better

Im at San Diego State and I have yet to hear anyone talk about guns, though I am in Nursing. But I do frequently wear my pro gun shirts: calguns, noveske, glock, daniel defense, haley strategic, etc. If someone wants to say something smart to me I am game in having a little debate. Calguns is blocked out when connected to their wifi, so most of the time im surfing the web on 4G when on campus.

I think I have seen you on campus before. I go to SDSU also. I also don't hear much gun talk, even from possible gun guys or antis. I guess everyone keeps that stuff to his or herself.

I got accepted to UCSD, but I couldn't afford it I wish I was going there now.

Going to UCSB right now and have not encountered much anti-2a except from one professor. She has no knowledge about firearms. She called an AR-15 a sub-machine gun LOL. She preached about how if someone was in your home with a knife that you are only allowed to use equal amount of force (i.e. prepare yourself for a knife fight). I immediately thought this lady was insane in the brain.

My campus has been really quiet about gun control. The instructors I've heard who were bad mouthing the 2A really didn't know WTF they were talking about.

As far as wearing gun clothing, I like subliminal type messages that gun owners can pick up on but hippie liberal douche bags can dismiss as just another brand of clothing.

I'm glad to be in the major I am in. I could not stand being a Sociology, Humanities, Arts, Music or _______ Studies. The people in my major related classes tend to be vastly conservative 90%+ and typically wear their hunting jackets to school, even the chicks. I feel safe that I'm sure at least 1 person in the room is carrying.

I am currently at UC Davis and have experienced what Sam mentioned above, even in the engineering department, just not as bad. While many of the people I have met at UC Davis are these brainwashed hippies, I have met quite a few people that are pro 2nd amendment. I enjoy talking firearms with my pro 2nd friends around some of the people unaware of the truth. After a few talks around them, it is easy to see that they do not think of firearms as negatively.

Our local range, YSA, is within a 15 minute drive of campus and is dirt cheap to shoot at... I'm really ashamed of how few college students I see shooting there. I see/meet at least 100x more adults or graduated students than I do current students.

Regardless, I have heard some of the most ridiculous, liberal comments about firearms from people at UC Davis.

My roommate and I like to go shooting there, its a nice place.

To be honest, I have not really seen much pro or anti gun discussion on campus at CSUS. I don't think the subject has ever come up in any of my classes.
