Amazon is one of the places I look first. A lot of the venders that sell through them have free shipping. I have never had a bad experience buying through them.

Im no longer using Midway (if I can find it else where) because of this. Its really a shame. I appreciate how Potterfield supports our industry and I understand making a profit but Im not rich and I need to make the most out of every dollar.

I find that MidwayUSA's USPS First Class Mail rates to me acceptable...and most of my orders of various small parts seem to fit in that shipping catagory. But I agree that their ground shipping rates are a bit steep.

plus their special handling fee's. i just bought two lyman lead molds. they had the best prices of anyone, but shipping and handling ended being 13.00 so it wipes out the cost savings. at that point i shrugged it off as being the same as if i had got it on amazon using my free prime shipping.

amazon is my go to for everything first. but didint like any of the shippers that had the molds on amazon so went with midway.

Thanks for the recommendations. Next time I will us the USPS flat rate shipping. I rarely sell items and when I spoke to the buyer of my brass, he was of the opinion that UPS would be the cheapest.

I'm thinking that's fine, I'll still have 500 to plink with. Another few days later, they tell me that they oversold 500 and now they have no ammo to give me.

Fast forward 2 weeks past the order date and the rest of my order still hasn't shipped. It has since been over a month now and I have sent numerous emails and actually attempted to wait on the phone for 20 minutes with their customer service and I still haven't received my $200 refund.

I think I'll be ordering elsewhere from now on.

It is what it is - sometimes they have inventory and parts that others don't. What can you do when you really want/need something and eveverone else is out?
Can't remember the last time I saw "coupon codes" from MidwayUSA. They used to send them every month like clockwork...I guess the economy has recovered enough to eliminate that shopping incentive. That's what made the shipping...reasonable.

Its because of the range bag, it's like $20 even if that's the only thing you get, something to do with an oversized box. There's a couple threads on it

I tried the cheap UPS Surepost... never again. It's a combo UPS - USPS shipping option, with no one taking ownership of where the package is, if it ever arrives.

Will pay for the normal shipping next time.

And don't delay. There is a time limit on disputing a charge. I think it's 60 days.

Surepost = SureFAIL in my book. Got caught by this one in the past by not paying attention to shipping (it's automatically selected when applicable).

You hit it RIGHT on the head. No one takes ownership in delivery. My package was "in transit" forever. Called UPS, they won't even disclose full info. I was told to check with my "local" post office. So I asked UPS which "local" post office they dropped the package at. They wouldn't/couldn't tell me. Are you kidding me? I ended up calling all my local (multiple in one city) offices only to be directed to the "hub". Took 2 days just to find out where my package was only to be then told it was delivered. I contested it and after a week of talking to the PO and UPS (both said to talk to my "shipper", and by that they mean the vendor who sold/shipped the goods - OMFG...so you UPS/USPS combo lose my package in the hand-off and then tell me to contact MidwayUSA as it's their problem). Wow, what's wrong with that picture? From now on, I pay extra to avoid this BS. SureFAIL for sure.
