    Man Accidentally Shoots His Son

Say a prayer for this guy. If i accidentally shot my son, they'd probably find two bodies. I don't think i could live with myself.

Investigators said Loughrey told them he didn't realize there was a bullet still in the chamber. "This happens all too often where people think the gun was empty," Lt. Eric Hermick told The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

I agree with you JohnP, the cops would not get a chance to question me, just read the note and bury me next to him

Wow, my son Troy is 7. My life would never be the same. Like JohnP said, two burials would not be far fetched. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

Not cool. How the heck do you make a mistake like that... sad story.

I agree with the 2 bodies.

I can't imagine. I understand what most respondents here have replied with, with another child, I don't know what I'd do.

          I HATE stories like this.

Title is wrong. Should be negligently not accidentally.

I have a 7 year old and this breaks my heart. If it was an accident the dad could recover, as negligence he will probably hate himself all his life.

I get angry when I read these stories because they're 100% preventable by following the 4 Rules of gun safety.

Brutal. I doubt he'll survive the year. The anti-gunners are having a field day with this in the comments.

Story line usually runs about the Same..."Gun went off" or "the Gun accidentally discharged"

My only sympathy goes out for the young boy who lost his life due to his father's incompetence, and that boy's mother who has to deal with the grief of losing her son. The father deserves prison time for manslaughter. This child's death was 100% preventable if the idiot hand followed the four rules. Granted that everyone is capable of making mistakes, it took him breaking 3 of the 4 rules of gun safety to have this happen. Zero sympathy for the idiot father, and he deserves the fact that he has to live out the rest of his life knowing he is 100% responsible for the death of his own child.

"Moms Demand Action" sounds less like a gun control group and more like the title of a porn flick from the mid-90s.

Just to clarify, I don't think suicide is a "good" idea when something like this happens but just reading about this happening to a stranger fills me with such dread that I have no idea how I would react in the moment.
