    Someone mentioned lowes....

Free tip... Buying something kind of expensive at lowes, go to your local post office and get a mail change of address packet- (for when you move) There is *usually* a lowes coupon in there for like 10% off any purchase over $100 or something like that. Check carefully, sometimes the packets are old, and the coupon is expired. (I hate lowes, always go to home depot, but if I can save 10% or more, fine.)

Costco- One of the local costco's (moreno valley) has 2 safes in the store- one looks pretty nice, and pretty big- cheap too. Forgot brand and price.
If your costco doesnt have in store, check online- The online site is where you occasionally find a scratch and dent discount one as well.

Costco shippers will bring it in your garage if there is no more than 1 step.

In that price range I'd recommend looking at the Liberty Centurion 12 model at Lowe's. Personally, I'm going to look into the safes that Turner's has on sale in their new winter flyer...

Yes (from personal experience too). And bolt it down - at least for earthquake preparedness if not for security. I just did mine so at least I feel confident that it won't be falling over in a quake. Cameras are next on the agenda. Also putting 3M security film on the most exposed/easy to enter windows too.

Go to Costco online. Read the reviews. It is totally worth it. Make sure you buy bigger than you need. Grow into your safe. Don't grow out of it.

For those of you with post tension slabs, I used a metal detector to locate all of the cables in my floor. Made sure none were where we planned to drill and bolted both of those bad boys down.

I disagree. 1 gun no safe. 2 guns safe. Unless there are kids who have access.

If I only owned 1 gun I would want it readily accessible. Even 2 seconds to open a lock could be your downfall.

IN my opinion unless you have a home that can accommodate a huge safe, your better off trying to effectively hide your stuff. Home invasions are common these days so whats to prevent someone from MAKING you open your $3000 safe? Most people live in residential apartments so having a secure safe is pretty unrealistic. Besides theres nothing that says "hey I have guns in my place" than the neighbors watching you drag a gym locker into your place. Im just saying

You have to use your own judgement on this one. In some cases, I agree. I don't think hiding them under the bed is an answer.

I have a hidden room in my house. To me, that's good enough and better than a safe.
