Be discreet moving it in.No need to call attention to it.When I move,my safe is wrapped in moving blankets to avoid advertising.

Most StackOn are gun cabinets, and not a true safe. They are more easily defeated.

Well you get what you pay for. From my research I think if you're spending anything less than a couple of grand you're just getting a fancy cabinet, but 1. most of us don't have the coin to drop on a "real" safe, and 2. even a fancy cabinet like the ones most of look at (<$1,000) is still better than nothing. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go fancy cabinet shopping...

Going to order a safe next week. I saw this one at Lowes http://tinyurl.com/c7bc7cg
          Looks good.

It'll have holes in the floor and back so you can bolt it in. Make sure you do as that will stop the handcart tweekers.

Safes are a good idea, hiding your stuff isn't so great...besides the safe being a hindrance to thievery is that it provides a shelter for fireproofing stuff I would like to NOT burn up, like my passports, family albums, etc.

You can get a quality safe between $600-800. I paid $925 last year for my American Security TF6036 with the digital lock and it included a nice door organizer. It is a fairly large safe and holds a lot of guns. I saved shipping costs by picking it up from the warehouse in Fontana after buying it thru my local gun store.

it'll only take one burglary to convince you it was the right thing to do. no more than 2 months after moving into our new place we experienced our first. my saving grace was that a safe purchase was the first to-do i promised myself when i got into a real house. i installed an alarm 2 days later as well.

Go to Costco and look for the safe that is 200 bucks off. Those deals come up once a month or so and last a few days. Its delivered to your doorstep (if your nice to the delivery guy).

Don't bother with resale. It's not worth the savings.

Did you see this in the store or online? The Costco stores around here don't seem to have any gun safes on display in their stores.

I think for the size of you home you picked a good safe..Its fire rated and has weight to it. Just make sure to bolt it to the floor and or wall..

After taking into consideration all of the other things we should keep locked up I'm looking to get something a little bigger but still within my budget of about $750 including delivery

Just picked up a new bigger safe yesterday. What a biatch! Took 5 grown adults to get it in my house. I out grew my smaller one and I am anticipating adding one or two new toys to the collection on Black Friday. A safe is a real need. A big safe is a must lol!

I'm putting mine in the garage but I'm not looking forward to moving it into place after it's delivered. I see that most, if not all, deliveries state that they only deliver to the driveway. I don't even have a driveway, my garage opens right onto the sidewalk so I'm hoping that they would at least put it into my garage.
