After reading all the threads on gun prices supposedly increasing after Obama takes office, I decided to call around to some of my local gun stores to see for myself. Before he won the election, I priced a Saiga .308 at $499. I called today and NOW??? That same Saiga is $700.

So Cal Guns? Probably not, they should have closed their doors.

Hilarious. Who are you going to "name"? By next week, 95% of most guns stores, if not all gun stores, will be jacking prices in one way or another on something and all for the same reasons, if it's not on this gun, it will be on "that" gun or ammo (name your gun or caliber).

We should TAX the wealthy gun owner who can afford the inflated prices, so that those who are less fortunate and/or were not prepared can afford to still purchase whatever they want. I want my OBAMAGUN

If what you are saying is true, then I would see no problem with naming such a shop so that others can be made aware of the fact that this place may be charging such prices. If you are unwilling to name such a shop, then I would have to question the validity of your post and wonder if you are simply looking to start a bit of a panic buy from those who may think that what you are saying is true.

So why did you wait till after the election when if you had paid any attention to 2008 or the multitude of threads on this forum, you should have known that prices were going to go up as sales increased from panic buying? This should not have been a surprise to you.

simple supply and demand; if u knew beforehand, u woulda been tipped off to a gun-adverse political climate and would have weathered the up-and-down fluctuation of prices...we're in America, and people have choices: sellers can command whatever price they seem fit...it's another sotry if there goods will sell though...

Everyone's raising prices right now, no thanks to all of the end-of-the-world, doom and gloom folks everywhere. I could get mad that the same Beretta 92FS I DROS'd today was $40 cheaper a couple of weeks ago but why? "I" knew that prices were going to go up and I didn't pull the trigger until after the election. People should've bought stuff before the election as this was inevitable. Are people NOT supposed to try and make money, especially when they're dealing with a less than wise public?

Sorry fellas but although I am one of Calguns favorite ranters I can not out this establishment for the simple fact they have always treated me well since I bought my Arsenal, 1st gen Glock 21, and Mossberg 590 there in 1996 (Still have the Arsenal and never been shot..ahh yes envy me and its not for Sale) Neways... I also go there once or twice a week to shoot. I just wanted to know was the rise in pricing due to Osama..excuse me..Obama winning the elections? Not on my war wagon this time..sorry. Just wanted some input from yous (in my Brooklyn accent)
