Black Talon Bullets have been labeled "Cop Killers" or armor piercing rounds that can pentrate a bullet proof vest being shot from a hand gun or rifle. This was made popular in the movie Lethal Weapon 2
Because Hollywood movies are such ACCURATE representations of real life firearms and ammunition performance, right? I'm sure there are plenty of times a revolver can fire 15+ times without reloading in real life just because it's done in Hollywood movies.
(it may have been 1 not sure)These bullets were banned and only can be used by law enforcement now because of this repuatation. I have heard conflicting things about what they can actually do. I do know they inflict maximum damage on a live target and are extrememly lethal, not sure if they can actually penetrate a bullet proof vest though.
Not sure of whether it can or not (hint: hollow point ammunition penetrates their targets LESS than standard FMJ rounds, let alone AP rounds), yet still wants to claim Black Talons as armor-piercing "cop-killer" rounds which will penetrate layers of kevlar despite being a hollowpoint bullet which will expand in flesh and stop penetrating once in the body or upon hitting a hard surface such as body armor which "cop-killer" rounds are claimed to penetrate. Hmm.
I think this would make an interesting episode.
