Wow, I could have used the study guide as I kept flunking that test as it was way so hard to pass.

        They had questions like...

If you find a gun and are not sure a gun is loaded you should
        a) point it away from you and pull the trigger
        b) leave it in the street so small children can find it and play with it
        c) Keep it in case you want to rob a bank some day
        d) Load the gun that way you know it is loaded
        e) call the local PD so they can come pick it up and make manhole covers out of it.

With tough questions like that we gun owners definitely could use some training and studying to pass this test.

Bay Area Firearms.....omg I feel sorry for those who take classes there. not only do they pay for $200 for a beginner but they also have to pay for the range fee at Jackson Arms. I work at Jackson Arms and seeing the look on peoples faces when they are told that they have to pay for the lanes fee's after paying $200 for a class that we offer for $50 is kinda sad....people should do more research

ummmm she could be cross dominant...just because someone is right handed doesn't necessarily mean your dominant eye is the right and vice versa. everyone brains are wired a little differently it is possible to be right handed and left eye dominant

I'm familiar with the owner of that Scuba shop. At the time he was also doing gun training. If it's the same guy...run far far away....

Unless you want to spend a few hours listening to his life's story instead of getting trained.

                    Just my $.02 cents.

Sounds like a scam or at least, a prey upon the unsuspecting, $200 for training to take the HSC test, they can not be seriouse about this can they?

OR do they have somthing else included in the package, i go by this shop front every day you can see it from the freeway, but it has to be a back room shared with the scuba company, as this is not a big building by any means. when i first heard about this i went looking for the shooting range and could not see were one was set up, behind the store is empty wasteland that could possbly house a small pistol range, but its to close to surrounding roads , large hotels and over buildings, plus the freeway is wright there. Now only, i learn that they do the actual hands on at Jackson Arms and that costs extra. try bullseye in Marin county for a agreat time and a expert learning experience.

In their defense, I'm reading that they charge $30 for the class, if they want to take the class, which is just to take advantage of paranoia. Legal, but totally useless. And from what I can tell, you STILL have to pay the $25 for the actual test...! Horsesh-t!

What they charge $189 for is something like the NRA Beginner Pistol, from what I've seen. Still, much better deals can be had elsewhere, and are more uhhh...concise. (Read: you don't need to take an 10-hour course to shoot well.) And what the hell do they mean by "super-certification"?

Oh yeah, tattooed_freak is right, it is sad what they pay to learn especially when we explain the course we offer. I could be wrong, but I think they also pay the range fees as well...ain't that a solid kick to the nuts!
