what if the seller was waiting for the funds to transfer to his account before shipping. that takes 4 business days. if it falls on the weekend theres 6 days right there. and what if the buyer used a e-check. that takes an extra days to clear. plenty of legitimate excusses why it takes a week or longer for things to happen.

and, its always possible that the 2 items were shipped individually packaged and the post office didnt deliver both on the same day. that stuff happens.

people are way to tense on ebay. better to relax and let things happen at their own pace. you have a month to file claims( or is it 90 days, i forget).
Just because he knew about it and advance and was willing to pay it to get his cases doesn't mean he has to like it. And if you paid with paypal, he shouldn't be waiting for funds to transfer to his account - it's instant into the paypal account. Even if he did have a legitimate reason to wait a week, he should've sent an email or some sort of communication about why.
(last time I sold something, it ended at 3pm, I was paid by 4pm, and it was shipped out by 6pm )

Interesting to note that the guy's first feedbacks are all positive and as of late has been very negative and a smattering of nuetrals, which I always take to mean bargained negatives. I think I'd pass doing business with him.

Paypal and eBay email (and everything else) completely suck. As a business owner with a store on eBay, I've been there. I've also been ripped off by payPal a few times.

Too many buyers are unrealistic and are crying wolf before they even know why they are crying. And the companies (paypal, eBay) only want their fees and continue to let fraud happen.

I quit doing business with paypal and eBay on Jan 1, 08 and have focused on my website. I quickly realized that I should have done that years ago.

I always try and be a fair guy, looks like my latest irate email finally got through and I got my first email back:

"Hi. Sorry for the mix-up. I'll send another one this weekend (I only ship on weekends). Thanks for the email & best regards, rogerseller"

I get to wait until next Tuesday I guess to get the other case, but at least I'm getting the case and can walk away from the situation with my goods. Not worth stressing about any further.

A wait of a week isnt bad at all. I've waited over a month. I've also made buyers wait over a month. Of course, in those cases I paid shipping and also threw in a little freebie as well.

$8 shipping - well, don't blame the seller - it was clearly posted. And, don't blame him for making it $8 - it's really eBay's fault. Ebay's fees and Paypal (also ebay) fees have gotten so outrageous for small items that guys really can't make a profit anymore unless they stick the ebay and paypal fees into the shipping cost.

I hate ebay. I've had to use them to sell because i had to, but i hate them.

Or...seller could have thought to himself "Gee, he's only 10 miles away. I have his address, maybe I'll just drive over to his place and hand the cases to him to save both of us the hassle of shipping it that close".
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero

                  FYI,
PAYPAL does NOT refund anything, regardless of wethere is misrepresented, fake, or not as described.
The ONLY refund if you do not get the item.

Funny you mention that - after I paid (so he had the shipping $$ in his pocket, so to speak) I offered to drive over and pick them up. This is one of the emails that went unanswered by him of course.

HEY_LT: thanks for the info. sucks, but good to know. I feel the same as Got Stuff and duenor, eBay used to be something good but it just seems to be a big hassle these days. I much prefer to find things on craigslist, send an email and go meet FTF with someone for junk I want.

i got to learn the hard way, when I bought a Japanese Type 94, paid Paypal and when I got it, it had been heavily reblued.
Paypal basically "told me oh well, sucks to be you" and as long as it was received, I had no recourse. None.
Who's gonna go to court for $600 anyway..?

Not true on the fake, as in a law was broken, like in trademark infringement and that kind of stuff-besides not received there is the illegal stuff that is either government illegal or paypal illegal.

Also though paypal is slow to refund, they do like to grab the money right away and run.

Most sellers link a bank account so they can pull cash out. In the small print on page 16,789,524 there is the paypal takes your money if there is a dispute clause.

If someone complains, paypal steals your money from your bank account then makes everyone jump through hoops to try to get it back. Then after 6 months they keep it (actually they kept it from the beginning, just that after 6 months they send you an email saying they officially did). It is on page 97,467,341 in their contract with you that money in dispute is not returned until they resolve it and if not resolved after 6 months it is kept.

Not only do they take money in dispute, but you agreed on page 109,658,453 that if you broke paypal rules that they can fine you like up to $3,000 for selling gun parts or tobacco or stuff that they say encourages illegal drug use and so on.

Seems that most I know that had this happen on either side never had their money returned and yes some were fined for selling gun parts.

PAYPAL IS EVIL they STEAL YOUR MONEY! and not just with outrageous fees, WATCH OUT!

If anyone ever gets you in a deal and you are willing to burn your paypal account then close your bank account if it is linked then close your credit card then put in an official complaint against the other party for theft or selling of gun parts so paypal STEALS THEIR MONEY!

At least that way the crook does not get to spend the money stolen from you!

If you have a bank account linked, make certain it is a throw away bank account with little to no money in it.

The only time I had a problem with an item I bought - a set of grips for Coonan that were not the correct size - I posted a complaint and got my $$$ back in about 10 days.
