Bad vendor report: "rogerseller" on eBay

This guy is pissing me off. I "won" (buy it now) two Smith & Wesson cases from him for around $15 and an insane $8 shipping charge (each), and he's in San Ramon and me San Francisco. I paid immediately after auction close, as always, and sent an email for confirmation (most sellers respond with a nice "hi thanks on it's way" then).

    1) seller does not respond to email. period.
    2) seller took a WEEK to print the shipping label and ship - he's 10miles away.
    3) seller only sent one of two paid-for cases

I have his name/address/phone number now (shipping label on box received today), if he doesn't respond to email by tonight I'm getting nasty. Stay away from this guy, I'll never do business with him again. In fact, he didn't even ship until after I sent an email threatening him with Fraud on eBay, now that I remember. (GMail has it all captured)

Just to piss me off one more time, the one case I received today is "new" but looks like it's been scraped around all over the bottom. Possibly new, possibly not but it didn't get to me in any sort of unblemished status.

getting screwed on ebay sucks. I've been on both ends of bad ebayers. I sold a guitar preamp and the dude broke it after he got it. I told him I would take it back but I would not cover shipping and packaging. He started calling me names and I told him something I will get in trouble for repeating here. Then I bought a RC car from some guy, it was supposed to be in mint condition. I get it drive it for a while and it stops working, I took it apart, the body had been hot glued back together from some helluva impact. Guy had the balls to tell me that's how it came from the factory.

Don't know if there is one, but a bad vendor list for CG might be a good idea...

Ivan - I was tempted to post his name (just the name) to see if any of the Norcal Calgunners knew him, since he's selling other random gun gear. I kinda thought that was a bad idea, though...

100%, the negative feeback is already brewing in my mind (we only get so much room so have to plan how to put the bad things in a short sentence). I get 29 days to resolve this (with Paypal before they say they won't help), so I'm willing to work it out to get my remaining case and call it done first, if I can. I actually want the case!

dude, he states shipping costs in advance. thats your fault for not reading. you have no right to complain about shipping when he has it posted.

When ever I buy some thing from Ebay, I ALWAYS buy from a reputable dealer, or someone who owns a store on Ebay, or someone who has been distinguished by Ebay.

I made the mistake of buying a game off a guy for $35 + $10 shipping. Needless to say, the $45 cash never came back and Ebay totally blew me off.

I think he is mostly complaining about the slow delivery.

You misinterpret my ire, I think - for $8 shipping on a $15 purchase under 1lb, I expect the seller to get off his a** and ship it sooner than a week after I "won" it. That was also per-item, so $16 and only one of the items showed up when I purchased 2.

my point is that its not relevant. he shouldnt complain about the shipping cost, period.

and a week delay isnt bad at all.

what if the seller was waiting for the funds to transfer to his account before shipping. that takes 4 business days. if it falls on the weekend theres 6 days right there. and what if the buyer used a e-check. that takes an extra days to clear. plenty of legitimate excusses why it takes a week or longer for things to happen.

and, its always possible that the 2 items were shipped individually packaged and the post office didnt deliver both on the same day. that stuff happens.

people are way to tense on ebay. better to relax and let things happen at their own pace. you have a month to file claims( or is it 90 days, i forget).

I don't feel the same, but hey - we can have different opinions. We probably like different guns, too!

Understandable if that were the case. However, three items somewhat negate that:

                              1) I paid via PayPal and the seller accepted my payment the same day (2008-02-02 I think it was)
                              2) his feedback numbers over 200 with plenty of "fast shipment" comments, which I took in good faith (as would any buyer, that's the whole point)
                              3) he has not responded to one single email I sent. period. not the nice ones, not the irate ones.

and, its always possible that the 2 items were shipped individually packaged and the post office didnt deliver both on the same day. that stuff happens.
He used the eBay + PayPal + USPS shipping thing (it's all integrated these days), which gives me not only the tracking number, but the number of packages and the size that were shipped, along with other options used by the shipper. One package shipped, one received by me.

people are way to tense on ebay. better to relax and let things happen at their own pace. you have a month to file claims( or is it 90 days, i forget).
You only have 29 days (I learned this the hard way) to *initiate* a complaint and have any hope of getting your money back. They recommend 14 days however.

I give people the benefit of the doubt, I'm an easygoing guy (anyone who's met me knows I love to crack jokes more than anything else). I don't start bitching unless I feel I've honestly feel that I've been wronged - I have a lot of eBay and Craigslist under my belt, good and bad outcomes, so I'm not new to the situation. In my mind this seller deserves my ire and this thread warning other Calgunners away from him.
