    ROHGARMS PRODUCT REVIEW

people have been wondering about this company .. this is my experience with them. i saw their booth at the gun show a few weeks ago in costa mesa, it was the first booth after you walk into the venue so it cought my attention. they had about 50 complete uppers on display. i ended up buying a 7.5 inch pistol ar upper 2 complete lower parts kits stocks and buffer tubes. the same day i take home the upper i take it out to test fire.. about 10 rounds in there appears to be gas leaking from the gas block and flash is actually shooting back at my face leaking out of the gas block, i immediately stop shooting and my friend was like dude theres flames a few inches from your face. i contact rohgarms ..they have a shop in La Habra and ask me to bring it in so i did... the guy checked it out and repositioned the gas block to his specs and im on my way.. i take the pistol back out to fire and it fires great for about 10-30 rounds .. and then a hole blows out of the gas block .. i tell the guy i had catestrophic failure and we schedule to meet up again. well i took the liberty to take the gas block off myself and this is what the gas port in the barrel looks like after about 50 rounds how about you guys tell me if this barrel is still a good barrel or not, because according to Rohgarms it is. as if i wasnt displeased enough with their products enough... this is what happens to my lower that i installed their buffer tube onto after about 100 rounds in 55gr PMC ( keep in mind i was firing a 16 inch barrel upper on this lower) ....at this point im extremely pissed off ..... but i still tried to take the high road and when i got to his shop today i just said hey.. i would like a refund .. he absolutely refused to give me a refund .. even told me to sue him if i wanted my money back .... at the end of the day i got my parts replaced.. but will i use them.. hell no.. will i sell them... nope i wouldnt want people to use parts i know are dangerous. with all that said .. i personally would never buy anything from this guy ever again and that is absolutely my reccomendations to you

    I. Was there with the OP when buying and the malfunctions. When I say flames..think 357 mag flame coming out a barrel, yet blowing toward your face inward on the ar. Lol. Kind of messed up the company doesn't stand behind their products to offer a refund for something they could have had a lawsuit from. To think the op held back on posting.. If rohg refunded his money..there would be no review..hmmmmm... 2 trips from riverside to deep orange county and attitude to boot.. So glad I got a delton upper instead of this one..

      Wow!
Is that the guy with the sign that says $299 uppers?
Doesn't look like Milspec to me.
Who does he say makes his parts?

Yes. And they have to be made in china.the rails don't fit optics well way too tight.

I bought an upper from this guy, Rogue Arms, and my Nikon scope mount wouldn't slide onto the upper rail. I took it to his shop, he tried out the mount himself and it wouldn't fit. So he swaps out the stripped upper for a new one. No questions, just a handshake. He's a good dude, but he may have some quality control issues. BTW, my rifle is shooting like a champ.

I am sorry, but if this is true the OP is correct... this guy is not a good dude, a good vendor or an honest person.

                2 things...

                1) That extension tube pic proves beyond all doubt that China is making Mil-spec sized tubes using low grade aluminum. 6061 and 7075 will not do that. Thats not even a UTG 6061 tube. The threads are raised so its mil-spec sized. The tube and thread are probably molded and melted coke cans are poured into the mold. The pic only proves the tubes defective, NOT that the vendor knew it was. China routinely tells customers their product is up to a certain standard when in fact it is not. China has no enforcement laws stopping a manufacture from stamping whatever they want on a product. MPI doesn't mean Magnetic Particle Inspected on a Chinese built product. I have even heard Leapers and UTG do not trust China vendors so they have their own shops make cheap stuff... their fear is one of these factories will put the pot-metal tubes into one of their packaging.. that tells you a lot if even an airsoft / low grade firearms company fears china's product.

                2) If one of my firearms had that level of failure, I would be driving to my customer on my dime with a trunk full of swag and a lump in my throat..thats freaking sickening to see.

Definitely file a small claims lawsuit AND contact BBB and post everything on any forums you know.

No quality crap like this is what gets people and their families injured. At least with the lawsuit, it may be more difficult for him to say he didn't know this would happen.

I'm a cop and my friends and I have been buying uppers, barrels, and other parts from this guy for almost 3 years and all the stuff are flawless. This guy is more than happy to help when we have assembly issues also. Sorry to burst your bubbles Impak but looking at your pics. It doesn't look like you shot only 10 to 50 rounds. Sounds like you screwed up and want to blame others. From what I know, other places wouldn't even give you a exchange after you assembled and or dis-assembled anything. Sounds like he took care of you.

No offense to this person, but the fact that this is shooter1990's first post...

kind of takes away from the credibility of the post in my PERSONAL opinion

not trying to get into an internet pissing match with anyone, just stating my opinion

Your right Voiceofreason, Thats reasonable, this is my first post so there is no credibility. But I have to start somewhere. I Just hate to see someone get a bad rap. Also, Evi, I wasn't born in 1990. 1990 was my first firearm purchase. Legally, 1990 was when I was allowed the right to bear arm. Sorry to intrude on your opinions ladies and gentlemen.
I'll go back to reading only.

Of course everyone has to start somewhere.

WHY do you think he screwed up? What do you think he did to cause that failure??:? Why do you think he fired more than 50 ruonds? He bought it less than a month ago. How many rounds SHOULD it take to have hot gasses shooting towards your face? I have fired M4 types until you could see the gas tube glowing inside the guards, never have I seen that kind of failure.

Could the guy have gotten these from a Chinese supplier? Certainly. But he's pushing this stuff out the door, it's HIS baby, he should make this right, no?

You are happy with your firearms, and that is fine. That doesn't mean that his examples are not flawed, does it? Any more than a guy posting that he's always driven Fords, so my Mustang must be fine?
