        Greta's

My business partner went to gretas to look at some guns and they tried to talk us out of what we wanted.

They had real bad attitudes and thier pricing was terribad.

We have been going to Fort Courage ever since. They are great and very personable.

Definatly the best gun store in Simi Valley.

I have only done business with Greta's once. Most of you know, I buy a lot of guns by anyones standard and I travel all over the state to do so. Most gun stores in so-cal know me and my grandson by name. You read between the lines from there.

Any time I am in the area, I always stop in at Fort Courage Armory!

I highly recommend you forget the "pretty store" and go to FCA, the store that prides themselves as being "the gun store without an attitude".

Tim runs a great store and is a really nice guy.

Not to mention they are a big supporters of Calguns.

Went to Greta's, got treated like crap...my friend actually bought a gun, the whole time it felt like they didn't want to sell us the gun. Rude, unprofessional service, and they're expensive.

            Goto Fort Courage instead.

I also own a gun collection numbering in three digits and go to a lot of different gun shops in LA/OC/Riverside/SB counties but have never had a problem in either Fort Courage or in Gretas. I'd do a lot more business with Gretas if I was closer.

i deal with a local shop here for most of my gun needs. John McCormicks. the staff is great and the prices are always good. now they dont really want to deal in oll or parts for oll for that matter. but they are nice about it and fully believe in the 2nd amendment. they are not rude about it. they just dont want to get involved in all the politics of it. so they choose not to. for me this is not an issue because i live 15 minutes from prk arms. and well i think we all know what that place is like. so for all things black i go there.

Chris the owner treated me right but the manager Jason thinks he knows everything. That was years ago when I bought a Ruger Security Six on consignment.

I was there last month looking for a snub nose and the staff was courteous even I did not buy one.

Just don't discuss OLL and everthing will be fine.

I just can't bring myself to give them another chance. They (the entire staff) used to come into my place of employment (Agoura Target Range) and treat me and the other employees in a arrogant and demeaning way.

There are TWO good gun shops in Simi. FCA and Bullseye. I have absolutely NO reason to ever step foot in Greta's again. Besides that, that lawn ornament is the poorest excuse for a cannon that I've ever seen.

                        Went into Greta's this afternoon.
I'm a Brit - lived in Simi for 16 years as a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder). However, in January, my family and I moved half a mile to a new home.

Trotted into Greta's and spoke to a polite guy behind the counter who sent me over to the owner and explained this to him. (Never bought from Greta's)

He insisted in front of 7 or 8 customers that I have to show 90 days residency at the same physical address.

I said "no, that according to CA DOJ law and ATF law, I have to show that I have resided in the State of California for 90 days. Those 90 days do NOT have to be at the same physical address".

The guy clearly has a bad attitude shouting in front of the customers to 'not tell him the law in his own store'.
I replied that if he actually knew the law then he would not need to be corrected - and I walked out.

Drove the 5 minutes to FCA, Tim was more than happy to quote chapter and verse of the rules and confirmed that I was correct and was happy to do the sale. (I have bought previously from Tim and will continue to do so).

Definitely will not step inside Greta's again.

The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

I went to greta's not too long ago when my employee was looking for a new gun. Tim had been closed that day and we really wernt looking to buy just check out some different guns. I saw AR receivers in one of the cases. I didnt dare ask and since last time I was there they informed me the ATF arrests anyone in possesion of one i just got out of there fast.

Tim your the best and ill be down in about 30

I myself have never had what I would call a "pleasant experience" at Greta's. This dates back 20+ years when they were down on Tierra Rejada next to the old K-Mart.

What I find interesting is that there must be plenty of other people out there that DO like them, because I can't see how they'd be able to stay in business otherwise. I guess good customer service just isn't important to some people.

Wow, you can't pay for that kind of advertising. To all of our faithful customers, and to all of our new customers, we thank you for the kind words. Tim and I carefully plotted our service philosophy, and it simply is to not have the gun store salesman mentality, where we know everything. We do not know everything. We posted a sign in the shop to let everyone know it. We love guns and we love your interest in them. We have met some really cool people along the way. We are growing and you will see improvements along the way. We hope you come on in and look around, and buy something. Tim's wife would appreciate that. She is responsible for making us charge you for stuff, otherwise we would do it for free!!
