About 6 years ago, I bought a Sig P228 German that is in 99% condition. Shot it twice with less than 100 rounds. Will never shoot it again, just can't since the value has doubled since then.

There are a few old/rare collectible guns in there but while I treat them with care I do shoot them.

many safe queens, but my favorite is a 1 of 500 from the colt custom shop 1911 gold cup match target, 38 super bought new in 1990 and still havent fired it or racked it back.

I had a safe queen and sold it a few years back. It just didn't make sense to me to have a beautifull gun and not use it. However, my Browning A-Bolt Gold Medallion .30-06 is spending a lot more time in the safe these days, and will continue to. This gun will NOT be sold! It's still 95+%. My grey synthetic X-Bolt in .270 has become my go to rifle. However, the 06 will still come out for special range days or hunts.

My example for this question that comes up every so often is this. Back in the 80's I had a Pasadena AutoMag that I bought new from Harry Sanford. I shot that gun a lot and had fun with it.
Then by a weird chance I got one of the nine factory engraved AutoMags. Would I shoot it? That would be nuts. I kept it for a few years and sold it for about thirty-six times what I paid for my first AutoMag.
Should I have not bought it because I wasn't going to shoot it. I don't think so!

I don't have any safe queens, but I have guns I have never shot or have very little rounds through them.

I do not have any intentional safe queens. I do have a number of firearms that get shot very little mostly because with 3 large safes packed full it is hard to use all of them. For that reason I am going to sell 6 mil surplus rifles which I have doubles on and have never shot. I have not shot any of my BP firearms in years. I have one trapdoor which I have fired a few rounds thru and another with none fired by me. I have a 22RF revolver which has never been fired and I have had it many years. I have other rifles/pistols which I have shot to be sure they workd then have not shot since. I also have 2 Correct Grade M1 Garands which I only shot once. Why shoot them when I have several service grade ones to use.
Now I have been doing a bunch of testing of ammo for 4 rifles for my Africa trip and several other rifles for hunting also. Hopefully I will get time to shoot some of the ones I have neglected in the future.

Sorry it ammo is to expensive or its one of a kinda then I'll understand not shooting it some time firing it. But its a gun its made to shoot. To each there own!
