If you can find a new item for the same price or lower than a used item posted for sale, you should be able to post a link to the new item. This would speed things along and help Calgunner's pay a fair price. What do you think?

SOmeone will cry thread crapping, and you will get banned. I recall observing a recent thread in the marketplace where a guy bought an AK parts kit in the MP and was reselling for 2x$$$. Folks posted the origional sale link, other links t similar parts kit online for less. All of those comments were deleted. In the MP your right to rediculous markup is preserved.

And it's an election year to boot! Go figure.

I never sweat it. There's nothing I want that badly as a buyer, and I'm not desperate to move anything as a seller...

That's what I do when I see an over priced item.

I have seen many over priced items sooner or later the price will drop into market value or it won't sell. No need to try low balling or telling the seller they are over priced. They will figure that out.

Posting "firm, no low ballers, and no trades" is just an invite for hagglers.

I see overpriced items in the classifieds all the time but I don't feel the need to "out" the seller by posting some comment or link.

...I assume if I can see that it is overpriced so can anyone else.

That's the set up now. Restrict discussion and buyer beware. I understand the approach.

Come to think about it maybe the reason I'm not temped to post a comment in because I know it's not allowed...

Some sellers 'recycle' their threads instead starting a new one. I have one in Parts & Accessories that I just change description and pictures whenever I have more items for sale.

See I go on the FST forum and see guns that are used, with 500 rounds down the barrel, priced for $500 more than a brand new gun from the gun store. It just makes me laugh and shake my head.

It is better than it used to be. There was plenty of threadcrapping by people who never touched a gun, and others who couldn't figure out unavailability, tax, and shipping in a deal.

60% of what I am asking and then in the same pm the ask me to travel over an hour to do the transfer.
Not seeing the problem here. It is a bid. If you feel like taking a bit less than your asking, fire back, with your travel and time figured too. Or ignore them.

There are good buys and good sells, to be had here. Had them both and haven't been screwed yet.........and I thank everyone on this page for that:

Lowballers to me are the ones where your asking price is 500 and they offer 100. There has to be some negotiation going on and offer close to half is a good starting point. For example:

                                seller: 500obo
                                Buyer: 275
                                Seller: 470
                                Buyer: 350
Seller: 460 take it or leave it...

Not that hard guys....while in the middle of those PM, you have a higher offer, take it and PM the bastard you sold it cuz he's too slow..

Just because you feel your item has history with you or whatever reason doesn't mean it will sell at MSRP...

Now, for me I offer about 10-15% lower then asking which I think is fair.
