    Market place low baller's

I have bought many thousands of dollars worth of guns, ammo, reloading supplies and other stuff on the Calguns market place. It is a really great market place for firearms stuff. All my buying experiences have been great. I think there may have been once or twice that I offered less than asking. When I did it was less that 10% less. Once they declined my offer and that was it.

I have also sold quite a few guns here on the market place too. All of the transaction have been good to great. But weeding through the low ballers is a pain. I have had people offering 60% of what I am asking and then in the same pm the ask me to travel over an hour to do the transfer. Then when I decline the keep bugging me like they are doing me a favor offering me cas today.

I just wish people would stopp treating the market place like Craigslist or a swap meet. If you think it's over priced just move on and keep looking.

If you don't want alternative offers, make it clear in your posting. Post a firm price that is not negotiable and state that. Having people notice your ad, make an off offer and respond with a serious offer should be appreciated.

Some people price their stuff way too high. Maybe they overpaid for it and just don't know what current market price is. So, they may get fair offers which they think are "low ball" offers. If you truely don't want to entertain any other offers, state it in your add.

BTW, In the last week, I've seen an add for a $750 Glock and an add for a $750 WASR. Both are obviously +/- 50% overpriced. But, if either seller got an offer for $500, they would be here screaming about being lowballed.

There's an INOX beretta 92FS in there right now for 1500

Just don't respond. They'll get the point. Some people do that cause they want to capitalize on a quick sale. Meanwhile, some sellers use the strategy of starting high to scare off lowballers and people who aren't serious, but will sell if you give them a reasonable offer.

You can ALWAYS go down, But never go Up...

Have you noticed that guns are Not selling right now? 6 months ago your ad would last about 1 hour on the front page, now 2 or 3 hours.. Same old ads day after day, and Very little reduction in Prices.. When I sell something, I get nervous and start lowering the price at about 500 looks.. There are ads with 40,000/50,000 looks, What up with that? Must be Tight Dollars!!

Just try not to insult them or post in the thread, just send a PM saying politely that they are asking too much and GLWS

But...the marketplace is like Craigslist or a swap meet.

If you think you're being lowballed just move on and ignore the offer.

^^^^ Agree! It always surprises me why people have asking prices near or higher than retail. I see ammo often priced at levels that make me wonder what they paid for it originally.
