Well, I feel I should stand up...My name is also Mike(sure are a lot of us), and I'm an ammo-addict. I find myself going to Walmart for 1 tube of toothpaste and 5 boxes of ammo almost weekly. I love hearing it rattle in it's boxes let alone the joy of moving a heavy box full of boxes of ammo. I never thought I would end up like this...and I love it! (sitting down)

Reloading makes it worse... O look a deal I can get 2,000 LSWC they are on sale... Then you buy more brass. Then 5000 primers. Then a keg of powder. Then your mail man hates you when he has to deliver your over weight mail.... AND Then you start buying dies and brass for guns you dont own.... Yet...

I wake up mornings with no recollection of how all that ammo got in my garage...

im just stashing up on noncorrosive 7.62 milsurp these days. got few k each of 45, 40 and 9. only have a few k of 308 currently. when i get to a level im comfortable with on 308, i will go back to the auto calibers. got 4 M1a to feed and 3 308 bolt guns. need to burnish up on the revolver calibers next
although i usually cant resist grabbing a box or 2 every time im in in wallys. just like getting that extra case of canned food at costco just in case and eventually it will get used.

greatest deal ever was 1 night at the walmart in milpitas they were clearing out their federal game loads 25 round boxes of shotgun ammo. $1 a box got about 50 boxes of 20, a few 12 some steel even. didnt even own a 20. had to get myself a 20 just to rationalize all that ammo.

I don't agree with the crack/ammo analogy for the simple reason I don't think anyone has ever given a BJ for a box of .223. If I'm wrong, then I stand corrected.

If the world comes to sexual acts in exchange for ammunition, I will only need 1 bullet...

I am in the same boat, whenever I have less than 1000 of all reloading components I get antsy.

I am currently antsy with 9mm AND 5.56... I am out of primers, and just tapped into my last 1000 of 9mm plated bullets!!!

I have to take out a 401k loan this year to pay off a credit card, true story.

If I shoot 300 rounds at the range, I buy 600 to replace it. 50 rounds? 100 to replace it. I've been buying TWICE what I shoot now for 6 years (adding onto the previous 16 years stash). It adds UP after a while!

It's all like crack. Buy some ammo and them buy more. Just a few more mags.... Sure! Just one more gun..... Yeah right.

agreed, I go into a panic when I drop below 2000 rds of anything except 22, then it's at least 5000 on hand. Thank god for reloading and ammo sponsorships though.

I thought I was OK until I saw this thread. Other than a recent 300BLK purchase I never by less than 1000. If numbers drop below 500 (5000 for .22lr) on hand I'm shopping for more.

I think the side effects are just as bad. I find myself obsessed with finding the next deal to feed the habit.
