The law (ATF) says if you are using marijuana, even if it is for California legal purposes, you can not have a gun. Is it unjust? sure. But it is also the law.

It is not a surprise to me, but what the surprise is, didn't Obama say that he wouldn't go after the states that allow MMJ as long as it doesn't violate state and federal laws?

Marijuana is a drug, and the law states that people who do drugs can't own firearms. If want to own a gun, DON'T DO DRUGS. Simple.

If someone ownes a gun and smokes pot because they have cancer, 5-10 seems a little steep. Like the article said, this is not ok, but it's ok for them to run guns to mexican drug dealers. But on the flip side, the medical pot cards are beyond abused. You can get one if you have an eyelash that curls the wrong way. I did a job accross the street from one of those "pharmacies" for a week or so. It was all hipsters and freaks rolling in and out of that place, all day long.Comment
