im a jewish gun owner that is actively pursuading other friends, family and others how vital it is to use our seccond amendment rights. I personally feel CA is already abusing their power with the the ten rounders, bullet button, 10 day wait, roster of approved firearms. You find that the more reform you go the more lefty anti gun world peace they get. I know several very religious orthodox families that are active firearms collectors & shooters.

One would think most people that ever where oppressed would have a firearm in their home to defend themselves.

One of my best shooting buddies happens to be Jewish.
He's a documentary filmmaker and has made dozens of programs about the Holocaust, visited most of the major death camps in Europe and interviewed many camp survivors.
Yeah, he understands the need for armed self-defense in the face of tyranny.

I'm half jewish and no one on the Jewish side ever has owned guns with one exception, Grandfather was a Cop...kept his duty gun after he left and I took it when as a elderly Man he was going to surrender it to the local PD to destroy it...

Jews by and large tend to be Liberal, tend to be Democrats and as a natural progression, tend to be anti gun...

I'm 1/2 jewish on my fathers side.

My family are generally perceived as anti gun (most are very liberal), but yet all seem to have a 12 gauge they don't talk about hidden somewhere 'just in case'

they don't want to be perceived as culturally conservative, but they also take the security of their family very seriously.

Until recently, most Jews in the US have been urban, living in large cities where few of anybody owns guns. I think for most of them living in dense Jewish communities, guns were just not on the radar. It wasnt until the 50s that Jews moved to suburbs in large numbers. My father was the first in his family to leave NY/New Jersey for California; in the 50s. There were a small number of Jews that moved west with the westward expanision in the 1800s. They set up shops and businesses and because they didnt live in jewish communities with kosher foods and synogogues the Reform Jewish branch was formed.

My grandma always rails at me for owning and she explains that she has gotten to her age without ever needing a gun.

Good article, I've heard of JPFO before and they seem like good folk.

The only nitpick I have on the article is that (most of) the 10 reasons can be applied to nearly any type of gun-hating liberal. In fact, I would say that those ten reasons (minus the reasons that appeal only to the religious views) are the top ten reasons anybody would hate guns.
