Yes. Small stainless revolver on my hip and stainless 12 gauge shotgun hidden in a gear locker for ocean fishing. Avoids rust.

Tragically, every time I carried onboard, the gun fell overboard. I've lost dozens of guns that way.

Fortunately, I moved out of California and it stopped happening.

Once past the 12 miles limit, CA has no control over you. In fact, you can use the Sov Citizen lines out there. Wrist-Rockets are permitted to deter "welfare" sealions who harass fishing - I used steel ball-bearings, and they never come around after ONE good "SMACK" to the blubber.

Fish and game law allows you to carry on your person while in the act of fishing. This includes transit to and from the fishing location. I carry on the Delta, never know what you're going to run into.

I also carry when out in the Delta. There are some very sketchy ramps and marinas out there

Just be careful off Mexico doing that. Believe they were able to extend their boundaries.
