i've never had any issues at the range i go to, sunnyvale rod and gun.
but i dont shoot very often, so luck may have something to do with it.
i've been there during member hours and it's very nice, of course public is a lot more hectic.
worst thing that has happened to me is some man-child got mad at a friend of mine with poor aim.

To me, leaving is letting the idiots win. They aren't shooting hoops...they're shooting freaking guns. If they were truly doing some idiotic crap that was truly dangerous, then they have no place on the range. Tell the RO. Skylarking and malarkey are no good on the range...

In my experiences, these certain groups that shows up at public ranges are the most dangerous. One time while the rest of the morons are down range puttin up targets, one of the idiots decides to grab the rifle and scope the people range. Not just that, after they were told of the safety violation, they giggled and laughed bout it after the ro left like nothing was wrong.

My last range session a few weeks ago involved the same certain group type. This time they all had glock 9& fo tays. They could shoot worth damn at 25. Yes they was shootin from the cool banger stance. And i dont know how many times they muzzle swept each other. One of them decides to run down range while the lines was still hot becuz his other homie bet that he was the crackshot of the group. The ro showed up but did not kick em out.

idiotic people will be the end of all gun rights in california and maybe the country. i hate to say it and bash me if you must, although i dont agree with some laws about firearms there needs to be one to filter out the dummys and the people who treat a firearm with respect.

I tell them to stop and it has worked so far.

If they laughed it off than I would leave. I shoot at both a private range and a public. I have not had any issues at the private range and the RO is rarely near the shooting line. The public range is not monitored and a lot busier so I have to pay more attention.

The most common idiotic thing I see is people walking down range when it's hot A lot of people like to rapid fire their pistol grip shotgun into the ground 10ft in front of them and I don't understand people's fascination with shooting steel at close range.

                      why?

                      1. I seen an idiot employee in vacaville grab a Ruger MRK 111 behind him on the rental wall and twirl it like a cowboy. The customer was like, "Is it safe to do that?" and the employee was like, "Oh, it's just my thing". Me and my brother looked at each other and gave each other disgusted looks. My brother told the people upstairs and now i think that guy got fired.

                      2. Even if it is law enforcement or a range employee playing around with guns, you MUST report it to an official or someone of authority or tell them yourself about safety. I've seen a dumb SFPD cop at big 5 hold a pump shotgun with the barrel pointed at the employee and at me with his finger on the trigger. He did not even to rack the pump to safety check it and the safety was off (it was a mossberg). I said, "whoa whoa, careful where you point that thing." he said ,"i'm a cop". i said, "the safety is off, you haven't checked if a round is chambered and your fackin finger is on the trigger" he looked at me all pissed and was inspecting the shotgun where to release the pump. ALSO - hasn't everyone seen that black FBI agent on youtube in the classroom who shot his foot?!?!
Yea i remember that. Did you see the ones where those white cops shot themselves?

Leave if it scares you bro. Or cinch em up and live your life. Theres worse ways to go then being accidentally shot. The odds against it are pretty high anyway. Granted the odds go up slightly every now and then lol.
The odds go up when morons treat guns like toys! You have a right to your opinion, but it's laughable.

My advice to the OP, If there are range masters, let them know. I'm sure they care that as_hats are putting their livelihoods in jeopardy.

If there's no authority around, leave... your kids will appreciate still having a parent...

I agree. I'm not trying to get accidentally shot because some dude is a retard, I'm a big fan of being healthy and an even bigger fan of not getting shot.

if you don't 'judge someone by what they look like, or what they wear' you haven't been around long enough to know better.

This is why I stoped going to ranges about 10 years ago I see it's only getting worse. Very rarely if any will the range kick someone out for doing stupid things they think the $$$ is more important.
